Re: Appointment to the Historic Preservation Board
Dear Mr. Stamm:
Congratulations! The City Commission has appointed you to the Historic Preservation Board to fill a
vacancy on that Board through April 2012 (normally a two (2) year term). Please be advised that Board
Members are governed by Chapter 74, the Rules of Procedure that govern the City Commission; Chapter
171, Historic Landmarks; and the Sunshine and Public Records Laws and Financial Disclosure
Requirements of the State of Florida. Attached are copies of the affecting Sunny Isles Beach legislation
and information on Sunshine and Public Records Laws for your reference.
The Historic Preservation Board normally meets about four (4) times a year, and an agenda is mailed to
you about two (2) weeks before the meeting. Board members who miss three (3) consecutive meetings
may be removed from office. Therefore, if you are unable to attend a meeting, please call me so that it
can be considered an excused absence.
Further, attached is a "Form 1 - Statement of Financial Interests" for you to complete. Historic
Preservation Board members have an annual financial disclosure filing requirement. You may mail your
completed form to me or bring it in the next time you are in City Hall in order to satisfy the requirement.
Additionally, attached is a copy of the current Historic Preservation Board Membership List.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
