A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RENAMING 16900 BLOCK
INTERSECTION ON COLLINS AVENUE TO "168 TERRACE";
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS IN
AN AMOUNT OF UP TO $600.00, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
STREET SIGNS AND TO DO ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY
TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City never officially named the intersection on Collins A venue that is
currently named "16900 Block"; and
WHEREAS, City staff discussed this with the Florida Department of Transportation and
they have offered the option of naming it 168 Terrace so that no addresses will need to be
changed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to rename the 16900 Block intersection on
Collins Avenue as "168 Terrace".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Street Naming. The City of Sunny Isles Beach formally approves
and requests the approval of Miami-Dade to name the 16900 Block intersection on Collins
Avenue as "168 Terrace".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
disburse funds to Miami-Dade County for the installation of street signs and to do all other things
necessary to effectuate this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of September 2010.

RE:
The official naming of what is currently designated as the "16900 Block"
intersection on Collins Avenue to 168th Terrace.
RECOMMENDATION:
The staff recommends that the Commission authorize the naming of what is currently
designated as the" 16900 Block" intersection on Collins Avenue to 168th Terrace.
REASONS:
It turns out that the City has never officially named the intersection on Collins A venue
that is currently signed as "16900 Block". We have discussed this matter with FDOT
and they have offered the option of naming it 168th Terrace so that no addresses will
need to be changed. The adjacent property owner, RK Associates, has indicated that
they have no objection to this new designation. We therefore ask your approval.
