(TRP) is a full service architectural firm whose lineage can be traced to two firms - Polevitzky and Russell Architects (1936 - 1941) and Weed, Russell, Johnson Associates, Architects and Engineers (1946 - 1957). Founded by T. Trip Russell, F.A.I.A. in 1957 as T. Trip Russell & Associates, the firm is built upon a solid foundation of tradition and experience. The early years saw the development of Miami Beach and the design of numerous hotels such as the Shelbourne Hotel. In 1977, two members of the firm became principals and the firm was re-named Russell, Martinez, & Holt, Architects, Inc. A merger in 1985 brought together Russell, Martinez, & Holt, Architects, Inc. and Tinney, Ruiz & Partners to form The Russell Partnership, Inc. Between 1985 and 1990, the work of the firm included a variety of projects, including a terminal building for U.S. Air, a radiation therapy facility at the Veterans Administrations Medical Center, numerous projects for Florida International University, University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University. During the 1990's, the firm continued with a diversified scope of projects which included the College of Liberal Arts for Florida Atlantic University, the Broward Community CollegejFAU Joint Library and Learning Resources Center, miscellaneous projects for the various campuses of Miami-Dade College, and the award winning Wellness Center for the University of Miami. TRP has had extensive experience with miscellaneous contracts for various governmental and private agencies at the national, state and local levels. Most of these contracts have been renewed or extended by the clients based on their satisfaction with the level of service provided by the firm. City of Miami · Miami Dade Parks and Recreation Continuing contracts for miscellaneous architecture, engineering, planning, building and code compliance services require that a team be organized and able to manage numerous projects with different schedules, budgets and general requirements. TRP has been working on these types of contracts for over 20 years and has learned to adapt to the changing requirements for this type of contract. Educational design work has been demonstrated with the design of a 24 classroom addition for J.P. Taravella High School, a stage remodeling for Hollywood Hills High School, media center additions for Air Base, Mae Walters, and Lorah Park Elementary Schools. Library design work has included the design of a renovation and addition to Carver Ranches Branch Library and the design of a new Tyrone Bryant Branch Library in Broward - County. Recent work has included significant recreational design and master planning work as consultants to Miami-Dade Parks & Recreation Department, including master plan work at Tamiami Park, addition of lighted soccer fields, toilets, parking, walkways, shelters, restrooms, etc. MDP&R work has also included the design of Aquatic Play Centers at Gwen Cherry Park, South Dade Park and A. D. Barnes Park. We are ready to start work immediately on this project. This classroom addition building was designed on a modular basis with flexibility in mind to allow for adaptation to varying site conditions with minimal design changes. Student restrooms and mechanical rooms are stacked for construction economies. Construction materials and systems are standard to the industry permitting economical construction and minimal construction field time. Built in 1926 and designed by Architect Walter Degarmo, the coral rock building's structural concrete was spalling. TRP specified stabilization of the deteriorating concrete by using epoxy injection and restoration of the re-bar. The 4300 sf structure's main hall roof is conventionally wood framed and rises to a height of 18'-0' at the ridge. The main hall is wrapped with a porch that also has exposed wood rafters. The restoration of this building also included air conditioning, new windows, electrical service upgrade, new roof and water proofing the exterior. The library functions as a meeting place for the community. There is a multipurpose room with room for over 100 hundred people, with audio-visual components and a food preparations area. There is an automatic overhead screen and microphone attachments for lectures and other events. A drive-through book drop-off is conveniently placed by the parking area and within access from the inside of the facility by the circulation workroom. The main library space is a large column free space, well lit by indirect lighting. There is a children's play area with primarily north facing window openings that will allow a view towards the park setting. 25. Impact resistant windows were been incorporated to meet FDOE design guidelines, reduce building maintenance costs and increase staff and student awareness in conjunction with the latest CPTED design principles. Mechanical equipment was been placed in a remote enclosure to minimize sound and maintenance issues. The use of laminated, tinted impact glazing, concrete solar sun shades and specific exterior wall and roof construction allowed this prototype building to be efficient and cost effective. 25. It consisted of Lots 10, 11 and Tract 12 of Section 1 of Flagler Grove Estates with approximately 3 acres in area. The park included two lighted soccer fields, a restroom facility to include a Park Manager's Office and storage room, a tot playground approximately 30' x 42', parking to serve the above facilities, and significant landscaping. The soccer fields and all landscaped areas of the park have a landscape irrigation system so as to utilize a well as the water source. The park is completely fenced, with the front yard fence to be an ornamental decorative type fence. Computerized white boards were installed on the front wall to allow the instructor to write either on a personal computer or on the white board and simultaneously transmit that information to the student's computers in the classroom. Miami Dade College - College Wide Handrail-Guardrail Code Compliance Study - Completed December, 2009 (Ongoing Contract) This project involved a survey of handrails and guardrails at all buildings of all eight campuses of Miami-Dade College to determine code and/or life safety deficiencies. All conditions at the campuses which would require handrails and guardrails but for which none were present were also part of this study. This included site conditions where there were changes in elevations, ramps, steps and benches along raised walkways. Existing handrails/guardrails were evaluated for compliance with both codes at the time of construction as well as current codes. In addition, handrails/guardrails were evaluated for structural deterioration and inadequate structural capacity. This facility is designed for the use of a regional commuter airline providing two additional gates as well as access to sixteen commuter jets that are ramp loaded. The over 67,000 SF area of this building will house the numerous tasks of this airline including office space, holdrooms, ticket counters, and sterile corridors. Sunrise Senior Center The Senior Center Facility is part of a 52 Acre Government Complex consisting of a City Hall, Public Safety Building, Fire Station, Civic Recreational/Cultural Arts Center and a Library. The 14,500 S.F. facility overlooking a 1 acre lake consists of an administration wing coupled by a two story Central Lobby adjoining the Activity wing. Tyrone Bryant Branch Library The Russell Partnership, Inc. was in charge of the design and construction administration for this library. The project consists of a brand new 10,000 S.F. Branch library including new parking area, and the relocation of existing tennis and shuffleboard courts. The library functions as a meeting place for the community. There is a multipurpose room with room for over one hundred people, with audio-visual components and a food preparations area. A drive through book drop off is conveniently placed by the parking area and within access from the inside of the facility by the circulation workroom. The main library space is a large column free space, well lit by indirect lighting.
