A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION WHICH WAS HELD ON TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 2, 2010 AND DECLARING NORMAN S. EDELCUP AS
MAYOR; DECLARING JEANETTE GATTO TO BE ELECTED AS
COMMISSIONER, SEAT 2; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a General Election on Tuesday, November 2,
2010; and
WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections and his staff of officials served as
Canvassing Board for the November 2,2010 General Election; and
WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board met on November 2, 2010, and proceeded to publicly
canvass the votes cast for the candidates in the General Election and certified the General Election
results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acceptance of Results of General Election. The City Commission of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the General Election held on November 2,2010, as
follows:
For MAYOR, the whole numbers of votes cast was 3,290, of which number
NORMAN S. EDELCUP received 1,930 votes
MICHAEL SCHNITZER received 1,360 votes
For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 2, the whole numbers of
votes cast was 2,945, of which number
JEANETTE GATTO received 1,622 votes
ROBERT "BOB" WELSH received 1,323 votes
For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 4, the whole numbers of
votes cast was 3,138, of which number
ISAAC AELION received 1,112 votes
ISAAC FELDMAN received 833 votes
JENIFFER VISCARRA received 1,183 votes, and requires a Run-Off Election on
December 7,2010.

Section 2. Installation of New Officers. The City Clerk will administer the oath to Norman S.
Edelcup as Mayor, and Jeanette Gatto as City Commissioner, and the new officers will be installed
and shall enter upon the discharge of their duties, effective thirty (30) days after General Election,
December 2,2010.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Accepting Results of the General Election Held on November
2,2010
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the results of the
General Election held on November 2,2010.
REASONS:
A General Election was held on Tuesday, November 2, 20 I 0 for the following seats:
Mayor; Residential Area Commissioner Seat 2; and Residential Area Commissioner Seat
4. This Resolution accepts the results of the General Election declaring Norman S.
Edelcup as Mayor, and Jeanette Gatto as City Commissioner Seat 2. It also accepts the
results of the Residential Area Commissioner Seat 4 which requires a run-off Election
between Isaac Aelion and Jeniffer Viscarra which is scheduled on Tuesday, December 7,
2010.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The oath will be administered to Norman S. Edelcup as Mayor, and to Jeanette Gatto as
City Commissioner, and the new officers will be installed and shall enter upon the
discharge of their duties, effective 30 days from the General Election, Thursday,
December 2, 20 I O. At the December 16, 20 I 0 City Commission meeting, results from
the December 7, 2010 Run-Off Election will be accepted, and the oath will be
administered to the newly elected City Commissioner for Seat 4, and will be effective on
Thursday, January 6, 2011.
