The primary work of the firm has been in the field of structural design. Work related to the structural design field has moved the firm into forensic investigations, structural inspections, reports and expert witness services in the construction field. The principal of the firm is Herbert L. Gopman, a graduate of the Architectural Engineering School of the University of Miami. Mr. Gopman holds engineering registrations in the States of Florida and New York. Mr. Gopman's personal experience in the field of construction and structural engineering is 45 years. • The firm's location has always been in the South Florida area and its current location is 192 NE 168 Street, North Miami Beach. Mr. Gopman's certificate was issued among the first 100 to qualify for the threshold license. The firm has four (4) certified standard building inspectors holding certificates issued by Southern Building Code Congress International. These certifications are achieved by testing and are in accordance with requirements of Florida Statutes 4 -68. The firm has a very strict policy insofar as qualifications for field inspectors for any of its is inspection projects. Any representative of this firm making project inspections must hold n LJ a minimum bachelors degree in the field of Civil or Architectural Engineering. Because of his vast experience, Mr. Gopman was selected to serve on the State Ad -Hoc Committee 1998 -1999 for purposes of revising and updating the current threshold law. 11 • Resume of Experience As explained previously, the experience of the firm is limited only to the field of structural engineering the discipline which fits the job requirements. As is shown in the enclosed brochure, samples of some of our previous projects are illustrated and listed. We have specialized in the design and inspection of threshold type buildings for the past 30 years. Several members of the firm including the principal meet all the strict requirements of certification as threshold inspectors. GOPMAN, PE President For the last 44 years Herb Gopman has designed and inspected buildings all over the world. His work is seen extensively in South Florida, where he has lived since 1944. A graduate of University of Miami (BS, Architectural Engineering, 1954), he opened his own firm in 1967. In that time he has served his community and profession in many ways: He is a current member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Arbitration Association, The Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers, American Consulting Engineers Council, National Society of Architectural Engineers, The Florida Engineering Society and the Florida Structural Engineers Association. His civic affiliations include the Dade County Board of Rules and Appeals, Civic League of Miami Beach, Citizens Action Committee of Miami Beach, City of Miami Beach Flood Plain Management Board, American Legion, Jewish War Veterans and the Ad Hoc Committee for Threshold Inspectors (State of Florida). Mr. Gopman has been an American Arbitration Panelist in many legal hearings and served as an expert witness in his field. TATIANA DYMERETS Engineering Associate Born and educated in Kiev (former USSR), Ms. Dymerets has been with Gopman Consulting Engineers since 1980. She has a Civil Engineering degree from Kiev University. She is a Structural Design Engineer handling analysis, design and inspection of various commercial and residential structures. She is certified by Florida Concrete and Products Association as a Masonry Inspector and SBCCI certified. EUGENE CROSBY Engineering Associate Born and educated in Dublin, Ireland, Mr. Crosby has been with Gopman Consulting Engineers since 1983. He has a Structural Engineering degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology (BS, 1983) and is a member of the British Institute of Structural Engineers. He is the Chief Structural Design Engineer in charge of structural design, drafting and inspections. Mr. Crosby is certified by SBCCI as a licensed building inspector.
