I, Charles P. Munz, am the President of the company and have been since it was formed in 1989. I am also Vice - President of Redland Construction Co., Inc., which was formed in 1957. Both Redland Construction Co., Inc. and The Redland Company, Inc. are family owned and operated firms. I am 48 years old and have been active in this, family owned business since age 16, when my father, Charles H. Munz, was President. The company operates in the area of Heavy Highway Construction and Site Development, and is fully qualified and licensed in several areas of Site Engineering Contractors. (See Licenses section). We have an Estimating Department which is fully computerized and has the ability to provide detail "take- offs" and proposals in all areas which we contract work in. The company has in- house maintenance facilities which enables us to keep required equipment available and ready for any of our projects without delays due to downtime. Or :J L J u In addition to the current projects, listed below, the company operates two Rock Pits. These pit operations, located on Redland Road, in Homestead, include all aspects and methods for open mine excavation of limerock materials in the Dade County area. This pit operation was begun back in 1957 by Redland Rock and has since passed on to the company. In the excavation of the limerock materials, use of explosives have been used to break the underground rock materials; draglines, owned by the company, are used to accomplish the excavation of the materials to a stockpile. Some of this material is "crushed" for Baserock use in roadway construction, and some has been used for raising elevation of several sites in the Homestead, Dade County area. In operating this pit, the company has set -up and maintained a computerized Scale House for purposes of maintaining control and determining billable materials moved. This is an on -going operation, expected to last for the next two to three years. The Company also maintains a pit operation at The Florida Power and Light Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant site. The materials excavated for the cooling canals at the plant site were placed in stockpiles along the excavated canal. The Company has crushing, loading, hauling and scale house operation set -up at this site.
