Bid Extension The bid submission deadline and public bid opening is being postponed by one week, to 10:00 AM on Friday September 17, 2004. Clarifications • On page 17715 -1 delete paragraph 1.2 (A). • On page 17715 -4 delete paragraph 2.3 (F) 1. The City has decided to go with the economy model, CB II -e, at all call station locations. • Change the last sentence of paragraph 2.1 (C) on page 17715 -3 to read "Standby batteries, UPS system, or both (provided by security installer) shall provide power for minimum of 30 minutes for all equipment. Generator standby power (not provided by security installer) shall provide emergency long -term power." • Change the second sentence of paragraph 2.2 (C) on page 17720 -5 to read "Standby batteries, UPS system, or both (provided by security installer) shall provide power for minimum of 30 minutes for all equipment." • Change the second sentence of paragraph 2.4 (C) on page 17725 -5 to read "Standby batteries, UPS system, or both (provided by security installer) shall provide power for minimum of 30 minutes for all equipment." • Delete section 2.5 on page 17720 -5. • Delete section 2.6 on page 17720 -6. • Delete section 2.7 on page 17720 -6 • Delete section 2.8 on page 17720 -6. • Add paragraph 2.3 (I)on page 17725 -5 as follows: I. System must be rack - mountable on a standard 19" equipment rack (provided by owner). • Additional camera information: Additional camera detail has been provided. See revised Exhibit "A ". • Additional unit price bid items have been added to access control section; REX buttons and TREX PIR units. See revised Exhibit "A ". • All CCTV cabling (RG59, CATS, and 18/2) is routed to a single location within the facility. Therefore, all DVR units shall be located in this location. • Security installer must apply for any required permits, which shall be issued at no charge by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. • Backboxes for security camera locations shall not be provided in any drop - ceiling or drywall ceiling mount location. Any supplies, equipment, labor, etc must be supplied by the security installer in the bid amount. • Backboxes for security camera locations that are surface mount on concrete may be provided, but installer must be prepared to mount camera direct to concrete without backbox should the backbox location not be exactly where the camera is to be mounted. The cables would be surface run from the backbox location to the camera in this case. • Any PC server or computer required for the system can be included at the vendor's option. The City would prefer to supply all necessary PC hardware (we use DELL to supply PC's and servers), but requirements for such must be clearly specified in the bid. If PC hardware is included in the bid, all specifications for such hardware must be submitted as part of the vendor's proposal. Questions submitted 1) Can you break down the door installs for the access control portion in more detail? • Single doors, door contact only qty, 24 • Double doors, door contacts only (2 per) qty, 7 • Single door, bio reader, door contact, TREX, REX qty. 28 • Single door, two bio readers, door contact qty. 1 • Double door, bio reader, door contacts, TREX, REX qty. 4 • Single garage door, two bio readers, door contact qty. 1 2) Page 17725 -4 Part 2.2 (A) calls for a day /night camera in all fixed locations. Why would you need these for interior cameras? Because they perform better in low light situations (for example at night when the facility is empty). This requirement shall stand as specified in the original RFP. 3) In researching the product specified, it appears that these products are not certified as UL listed, and it is doubtful the electrical inspectors will permit mounting and terminating non -UL labeled devices. All specified products are UL listed per the manufacturer cut sheets. 4) What type of cabling is the city providing? (coax, UTP, fiber optic etc.) Various vendors have asked this question despite the fact that we have specifically stated that wiring will be provided by us. Therefore, the following information is being provided solely to give vendors an "idea" of what we have in mind, but is subject to change at any time. We will be providing the following: • One Cats cable to each camera (dual dome locations shall have 2) • One RG59 cable to each camera (dual dome locations shall have 2) • One 18/2 cable to each camera (dual dome locations shall have 2) • One 22/4 to each duress station • One 22/4 to each door contact • One 18/2 to each REX • One 18/4 to each TREX • One 18/2 to each mag lock • One 18/2 to each electric strike • One Cats cable to each reader 5) What are the mounting heights of the various cameras? Are any pole mounted? We need this information so that the correct mounting devices are provided. All interior cameras are mounted in drop ceiling or drywall. The ceiling height is either 8', 9' 6" or 12'. All exterior cameras are mounted to concrete columns or wall. The highest external camera mount location is at an approximate height of 20 feet. All mounting, labor, equipment necessary for mounting, etc must be supplied by security installer. 6) What are the sizes of the security monitors? Are they VGA, CRT, LCD, etc. ? 19" LCD monitors for the lobby monitoring station. Unspecified wall mount flat displays for the Police Dispatch monitoring station. 7) The specification calls for the contractor to provide "CAD" drawings. Is the city providing base drawings so that an overlay can be provided, or does the contractor have to come in and do a survey? We will provide the AutoCAD files containing the most up -to -date drawings as a base.
