A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF
THE RUN-OFF ELECTION WHICH WAS HELD ON TUESDAY,
DECEMBER 7, 2010 AND DECLARING ISAAC AELION TO BE
ELECTED AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 4; DISCHARGING THE
CANVASSING BOARD FOR SAID RUN-OFF ELECTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a General Election on Tuesday, November 2,
2010, of which required a Run-Off Election on Tuesday, December 7,2010; and
WHEREAS, City Resolution No. 2010-1621, designated Emanuel Pine to be the registered
voter, to serve on the Canvassing Board with the City Manager, and City Clerk Jane A. Hines,
Chairperson, for the Run-Off Election; and
WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board met on December 7, 2010, and proceeded to publicly
canvass the votes cast for the candidates in the Run-Off Election and certified the Election results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acceptance of Results of Run-Off Election. The City Commission of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the Run-Off Election held on December 7, 2010, as
follows:
For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 4, the whole numbers of
votes cast was 1,275, of which number
ISAAC AELION received 671 votes
JENIFFER VISCARRA received 591 votes
Section 2. Discharge of the Canvassing Board. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach hereby discharges the Canvassing Board being Emanuel Pine, Member; City Manager Rick
Conner, Member; and City Clerk Jane A. Hines, Chairperson, as the City of Sunny Isles Beach's
Canvassing Board for the December 7,2010 Run-Off Election.
Section 3. Installation of New Officer. The City Clerk will administer the oath to Isaac Aelion
as City Commissioner, and the new officer will be installed and shall enter upon the discharge of
their duties, effective thirty (30) days after Run-Off Election, January 6, 2011.
Section 4.
Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of December 2010.

RE:
Accepting Results of the December 7, 2010 Run-Off Election,
Discharging the Canvassing Board, and Declaring Isaac Aelion to be
Elected as City Commissioner, Seat 4
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the results of the Run-
Off Election held on December 7, 2010.
REASONS:
A General Election was held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 for the following seats:
Mayor, Residential Area City Commissioner Seat 2, and Residential Area City
Commissioner Seat 4. Three candidates ran for Seat 4, where upon no candidate received
more than 50% of the votes which forced a Run-Off Election to be held on December 7,
2010. This Resolution accepts the results of the Run-Off Election declaring Isaac Aelion
as City Commissioner Seat 4. It also discharges the Canvassing Board with thanks to
Emanuel Pine.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The oath will be adminstered to Isaac Aelion as City Commissioner, and the new officer
will be installed and shall enter upon the discharge of his duties, effective 30 days from
the Run-Off Election, Thursday, January 6, 2011.
