Liquidated damages of $1500 per calendar day until substantial completion; then after that $1000 per day until final. 2. Unit bid project: paying for installed and approved items only 3. Project will commence at 172ncJ Street and Collins Avenue 4. W ASA will he doing major sewer reconstruction: several deep manholes and this project will be completed in the same time that W ASA starts their construction 5. Contractor should be prepared to install cross-drains 6. Water encroached On roadways will be eliminated 7. Other utilities are at a shallow depth (generally 4 feet) and Illay have to go deeper in cases where we have conflicts 8. An entirely new drainage system, existing drainage will he demolished 9. FPL is lmdergrotUld and will have to be coordinated as well as telephone and cable TV 10. l72nd Street will have to be closed and there will be no thm street, except to apt buildings 11. Asphalt is not salvageable - all new base and new asphalt 12. Construction easement parallel with right-of-way provided; can encroach into adjoining properties so that you can put fill adjacent to raised grade 13. Answer: Assistant City Manager/Service Jorge Vera advised that it will possibly start by the end of July 2007 or beginning of August 2007, b. Question: Is the ideA to have the road conlTactor stm1 the job after W ASA? Answer: Yes. W ASA will be going the deepest and therefore starting the work first. It will be the 172ml Street contractor's choice to install cross drains or whatever is necessary at the time that WASA llllS the ditches open or wait until they have back-filled to grade. This contract is going to be awarded around August 16th, 2007 so that we are not really looking of the 172nd Street contractor to start until the end of August or the beginning of September. The 172nd Street contractor will not be present at W A8A's preconstruction meeting. c. Question: Since you mentioned laterals, will WASA get the head start and then the 172nd Street contractor would have 10 coordinate? Answer: Yes d. Question: It is not their laterals but OurS that we would have to put in jor ollr drainage f>ystem? Answer: Cross-dl'ains arc shallow comp~lrcd to the sanitary sewer. e. Question: Will they have much restoration in their contract? Answer: Yes. Their original contract provides for the resurfacing of the road and they indicated that it would include a change order on their part. V ou will be doing the paving, The road will be closed. When they get in there ,down the center of that road, they wHl close off sections of that. People will have to come in through North Bay Road to have access to the property. If you are at Collins Avenue, there will be no turning into 172"11 Street. f Question: The 172J1ri Street contractor will have 10 do it in segments because we don't have a wide roadway there? Answer: Assistant City M~lnager/Service Jorge Vera advised that W ASA will try to keep one (1) one-way lane always open. Their concern is at Collins Avenue where the manholes are so dcep that, without shoring, it will be a very large hole. This area has sugar sand. You will not have to be digging that deep. By the time you arrive, the first section will be ready at grade to install the various components of this job, They will be shallow so that you can maintain that One- way in. g. Question: Do they have extensive work west of The connecting point of Collins Avenue on 172/11J Street? Answer: Yes, They have the center of that road all the way to the end. h. Question: Whar is the budget for this project? Answer: The budget will be included with the minutes. i. Question: Sugar sand was mentioned, is that what is mostly there? Answer: Yes. As you know, most of Sunny Isles Beach was created by dredging so there could be a conglomerate of material. They will tell us how much they need. He will be having a meeting with FPL and advise you through an addendum, k. Question: You mentioned FPL. Have the utilities been moved out of the way? Answer: No. We have gathered as much informntion of the underground as possible (i.e. field survey, contacted utilities companies, etc.), It is not an extremely busy street beneath the surface but they would not be able to design a straight FI>L line. There will have to be some offsets because there are items that are not made parallel. Once FPL gives us their plans, a design will be included and forwarded to you as an addendum, l. Question: Do we have all the permits? Answer: Yes. m. Question: Will the contractor be reimbursed for the permitfees? Answer: If you are talking about Building Department permit fees, we suggest thllt you put it in your bid as it will be the contractor's responsibility. n. Question: There is a quantity discrepancy between bid item and actual plans, under drainage pipes. Answer: That may have occurred if DERM had instructed us to do something different.
