BHA was incorporated in 1955 in the State of Florida. BHA provides comprehensive
architectural building services and civil and structural services for roadway and bridge
projects. The annual revenues for the past two years are $7,442,511 (2006) and
$8,983,091 (2005). The 2005 revenue is somewhat higher than 2006 revenue due to our
being in 2004-2005 the Architect and General Contractor in the design and construction of
our headquarters office building.

Beiswenger, Hoch and Associates was invited to
evaluate a previously design stormwater drainage
system. BHA evaluated that system and upon an
environmental, feasibility and cost evaluation,
recommended for a new design using a series of
drainage wells interconnected for flow
equalization. The system recommended by BHA
eliminated direct outfalls to the ecological sensitive
Dumbfoundling Bay.
This drainage and street improvement project is
part of the Comprehensive Plan to alleviate
flooding problems throughout the City of Sunny
Isles Beach. BHA's approach to solve the flooding
problems of the Central Island neighborhood was
to utilize Drainage wells.
This drainage and street improvement project is
the first of its kind to utilize 22 Storm water
Drainage Wells for flood control. The injection
wells are modeled to equalize runoff injection to
the water table.

The City of Sunny Isles Beach was experiencing drainage
problems with the recently completed storm drainage
pumping system built in the Golden Shores neighborhood.
The objective of this project was to identify and quantify
alternative methods to remedy the current problems:
Drainage evaluation, final design and technical construction
assistance to the City were included in this project: The
project encompassed four phases of development. BHA
provided consulting engineering services for all phases listed
below:
Phase I: Flood control study and evaluation of the existing
storm sewer system and pumping station. Completed on January 2001.
Phase II: Photogrammetric and planimetric mapping of this
80 acre site, pavement condition survey, plan production for
the reconstruction of the storm sewer system, street
widening and signalization. This phase also included the
electro-mechanical refurbishment of the pumping station and
new flood control staging. Storm sewer rehabilitation using
epoxy resins and polyester liner was utilized. The 9,100
linear feet of storm sewer "cured in place piping" (CIPP)
rehabilitation process is considered the largest of its kind in
the US and was published on the July 2002 issue of the
"Trench less Technology" magazine. Drainage problem in
one section of this neighborhood was accomplished by using
four (4) Storm Drainage Wells.
Phase III: Technical assistance to the City of Sunny Isles
Beach for letting and bidding process for the implementation
of this 3.5 million construction cost project. Completed on
October 2001.
Phase IV: Consulting engineering services for the
construction supervision (CEI) for the construction of this
project. Completed on January 2003.

The project entails milling and resurfacing of the existing pavement.
Addressing safety concerns and bringing other roadway and
structure features up to the current resurfacing, restoration and

Engineering. Urban highway and drainage design. Open tunnel under
the Railroad crossing at Okeechobee Road Bulkhead along canal.
This urban roadway project located in the City of Hialeah, consisted of
1.5 miles of six-lane design from SR 826 to W. 1 ih Avenue. The
roadway design included drainage, lighting, signing and marking and
_ signalization. The drainage system consisted of continuous French
drain system. The depressed section being below the nearby Miami
Canal normal water level required the design .of triplex wet well
pumping station.

This project in the a heavily urbanized section of downtown Miami
included pavement milling and resurfacing, re-design of two
intersections, drainage modifications, permitting, pavement
marking and signing, signal modifications, utility coordination and

This project was undertaken for FOOT
with the support of Miami-Dade County
and the City of Miami to study ways of
providing a more direct access from the
Port of Miami and from the City of Miami
to WB SR 836. The project aimed to
improve the present situation where
cargo trucks use NW 1 st Avenue, NW
2nd Avenue, Biscayne Boulevard, NW 5th
Street, NW 6th Street and other
Downtown Miami streets in an
unregulated way that contributes to
traffic congestion, noise and air
contamination and safety concerns.
Beneficiaries of the project would be the
Port of Miami, residents and businesses
in the Miami downtown area and the
public at large that travel in this part of
Miami-Dade County.
As part of the project an extensive traffic
study was undertaken by BHA and
BHA's subconsultant Miller Consulting (now TRANSYSTEMS) in which AADT and peak hour traffic volumes
were collected for most of the streets and intersections that comprise the grid from NW 3rt! Street to NW 14th
Street and from NW ih Avenue to Biscayne Boulevard. The collected
data was analyzed and alternative corridor schemes were evaluated,
with the recommended alternative being the designation -after street
improvements- of NW 5th and NW 6th Streets as one-way pairs in
combination with a proposed NB on-ramp to 1-95. An improvement was
developed to the present NB ramp to 1-95 NB from NW 8th Street in
which trucks would have the required vertical clearance under the
bridge just north of NW 8th Street. A right-turn SB to NB loop ramp from
SB NW 3rt! Avenue traffic to the existing NB on-ramp from NW 8th Street

pavement marking and signalization, highway design, traffic counts, and general civil engineering. We also
undertook an extensive Public Involvement effort that included more that fifty meetings with various
representatives of the project neighbors, businesses and community leaders, as many aspects of the project
was initially met with opposition from the local residents.

This project in downtown Miami is the widening of SR 5 / Brickell Avenue to add an additional lane over the
Miami River. The work included roadway design, drainage, signing and marking, signalization. lighting and
bridge design.
A widening of the north approach span to accommodate an additional lane of traffic with modified AASHTO
Type VI beam designed by the LRFD Method. BHA prepared the Bridge Development Report, 30% Plans
and Final Plans. Also due to the close proximity of the construction of the Dupont Plaza Towers special
MSE walls and pier footings were detailed in order not to encroach into the right-of-way
