A RESOLUTION OF THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING TO THE
CITY COMMISSION OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, THE ORDINANCE
AMENDING ITS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO UPDATE THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS SCHEDULE, A TT ACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT
"A", AND THE REQUIRED TRANSMITTAL TO THE STATE LAND
PLANNING AGENCY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida was incorporated on June 17, 1997;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Comprehensive Planning
and Land Development Regulation Act, on October 5, 2000, the City of Sunny Isles Beach
adopted its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Affairs has found the Sunny Isles Beach
Comprehensive Plan in compliance with the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and
Land Development Regulations Act; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 163, Sections 163.3184 and 163.3187, Florida Statutes, provides
procedures for amendments to adopted local comprehensive plans; and
WHEREAS, Section 265-8 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Code
provides for amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida has mandated that all local
governments must annually update their Comprehensive Plan Capital Improvements Element,
including the Five-Year Schedule of Capital Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has carefully prepared an amendment to its
Comprehensive Plan to update Policy 1 G of its Capital Improvement Element and Five Year
Capital Improvement Schedule, pursuant to Section 163.3177, Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission serves as the Local Planning Agency ("LP A"), and
whereas the LPA is required to review amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission reviewed the proposed amendment, held an advertised
public hearing, provided for participation by the public in the process; and
WHEREAS, the LP A has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its
residents to recommend approval of the proposed amendment to its Comprehensive Plan to update
its Capital Improvements Schedule, for transmittal to the State Land Planning Agency.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. The Local Planning Agency
hereby approves the proposed amendment to update Policy 1 G of the City of Sunny Isles Beach
Comprehensive Plan Capital Improvements Element and Five-Year Capital Improvement Schedule,
attached as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Transmittal of Amendment to Comprehensive Plan. The Local Planning Agency
hereby recommends transmittal of the Plan Amendment to the City of Sunny Isles Beach
Comprehensive Plan to the State Land Planning Agency.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
