A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF A FORD FUSION HYBRID FOR USE BY CITY
MANAGER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY
THOUSAND ($30,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the employment contract with newly appointed City Manager
Alan J. Cohen, a vehicle is required for him to perform day to day operations of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City now wishes to purchase a Ford Fusion Hybrid through either Don
Reid Ford or Gus Machado Ford under the State of Florida Contract or Miami-Dade County
Contract, respectively, in an amount not to exceed Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00); and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for
said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicle. The City Commission hereby authorizes the
purchase of a Ford Fusion Hybrid for use by City Manager, in an amount not to exceed Thirty
Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of May 2010.

Purchase of the City Manager Take Home Vehicle Pursuant to the City
Manager's Employment Contract.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommonding City Commission approve the purchase of a Ford Fusion Hybrid
for the City Manager's take home vehicle pursuant to the City Manager contract approved
by Commission on April 21, 2011. The vehicle is not to exceed $30,000
REASONS:
Staff will purchase a Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicle for the City Manager pursuant to his
executed employment contract. Due to the limited availability of this vehicle, the vehicle
will be purchased through either Don Reid Ford or Gus Machado Ford. Both vendors
offers discount pricing provided by Florida State contract or the Miami-Dade County
contract, respectively.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is available in 10-559-5642.
