Home My WebLink AboutReso 2011-1778 RESOLUTION NO. 2011- 17-rt A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) FORD F350 SPECIAL PURPOSE POLICE VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FROM ALAN JA Y AUTOMOTIVE NETWORK, UNDER THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION CONTRACT BID #10-18-0907, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($55,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to our Police Officers; and WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to replace the current II-year old Special Purpose Police Vehicle and purchase one (1) Ford F350 Special Purpose Police Vehicle and associated equipment from Alan Jay Automotive Network under the Sheriffs Association Contract Bid #10-18-0907, in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00) installed, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and WHEREAS, funding for the above vehicle will be paid for through the Department of Justice (DOJ) Forfeiture Fund. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Authorizing the Purchase of Police Vehicle. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of one (1) Ford F350 Special Purpose Police Vehicle and associated equipment from Alan Jay Automotive Network, in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
