A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.
2011-1779 ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2011; AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF TEN (10) MACBOOK PRO LAPTOP COMPUTERS AND
ACCESSORIES FROM APPLE ENTERPRISE, FOR THE POLICE
DEP ARTMENT'S DETACHED DETECTIVEIDEA TASK FORCE, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED
NINETEEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($16,219.50), ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department provides staffing and equipment
to the Task Force units to assist in their proactive criminal investigations and prosecution; and
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles BeachlDEA Task Force had requested ten (10) Macbook
Pro Laptop Computers to assist with tracking of surveillance vehicles, storage of investigative
data and other investigative purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved a contract with the L.A Computer
Company, via Resolution No. 2011-1779 on September 15, 2011 based on them providing the
most responsive bid, after which time the L.A. Computer Company notified the City that it was
unable to honor the price it provided the City; and
WHEREAS, Apple Enterprise is now the most responsive bidder to Police Bid Request
# 1108-004-10, in an amount not to exceed Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred Nineteen Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($16,219.50), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for
said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and
WHEREAS, funding for the above Macbook Pro Laptop Computers and accessories will
be paid for through the Department of Justice (DOJ) Forfeiture Funds.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Rescind Resolution No. 2011-1779. Resolution No. 2011-1779 approving the
purchase of laptop computers from L.A. Computer Company is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. Authorizing the Purchase of Laptop Computers. The City Commission hereby
authorizes the purchase of ten (10) Macbook Pro Laptop Computers and accessories from Apple

Enterprise, in an amount not to exceed Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred Nineteen Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($16,219.50), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
