RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
REDUCE RENT PAID TO THE CITY BY SUGARS DROP SHOP FOR
CONCESSIONAIRE SERVICES AT THE SKATEBOARD P ARK LOCATED
IN TOWN CENTER PARK, TO AN AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED
FIFTY DOLLARS ($350.00) PER MONTH; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission had long desired to have a skateboard park for the
enjoyment and safety of our youth; and
WHEREAS, the City issued Request for Proposals (RFP) No.1 0-08-03, for Concessionaire
Services for the Skateboard Park at Town Center Park, for which one (1) response was received; and
WHEREAS, on October 14,2010 via Resolution No. 2010-1619 the City Commission
awarded the RFP to and entered into an Agreement with Sugars Drop Shop, to provide
concessionaire services for the Skateboard Park at Town Center Park, in an amount to be paid to the
City of Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450) per month; and
WHEREAS, the hours at the Skateboard Park have been reduced which has resulted in a
reduction of income for Sugars Drop Shop, and the City Commission now desires to authorize the
City Manager to reduce the rental rate paid to the City by Sugars Drop Shop, to an amount of Three
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per month.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to reduce the
rent paid to the City by Sugars Drop Shop for concessionaire services at the Skateboard Park, to an
amount of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) per month.
Section 2. Further Authorization ofCitv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do
all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of September 2011.
