A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF UNIFORMS AND
RELATED ITEMS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FROM GOLD NUGGET D/B/A ARGO UNIFORM
COMP ANY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN DOLLARS ($18,700.00);
PIGGYBACKING THE TOWN OF DAVIE CONTRACT
UNIFORMS BID NO. B-09-81; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is in need of new and
replacement uniforms to centralize and upgrade the quality of the uniforms for all uniformed
employees of the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company, has a local facility and stocks
uniforms in quantity to serve the Police Department's needs, and employs a large staff of
seamstress personnel to do alterations and stitching of uniforms resulting in a faster delivery of
uniforms and accessories; and
WHEREAS, Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company has agreed to allow the City to
piggyback the agreement with the Town of Davie Contract Uniforms Bid No. B-09-81; and
WHEREAS, the City being satisfied with the quality and service of Gold Nugget d/b/a
Argo Uniform Company, is now requesting to again purchase uniforms and related items for the
Police Department from Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company, in an amount not to exceed
Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($18,700.00).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase
of uniforms and related items for the Police Department from Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform
Company, in an amount not to exceed Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($18,700.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF DAVIE, FLORIDA, TO EXTEND THE
CONTRACT wrm GOLD NUGGET d/b/a ARGO UNIFORM COMPANY FOR
POUCE UNIFORMS.
WHEREAS, the Town previously awarded the contract to Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform
Company to supply uniforms for the Police Department by Resolution 2009-165 approved 7/29/09; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department and the vendor wish to exercise the option to extend the
contract for one (1) additional two (2) year period under the same terms and conditions stated in the
original contract; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is satisfied with the product and service provided by the
vendor; and
. WHEREAS. after review the Town Council wishes to extend the contract with Golden Nugget
d/b/a ArgoUnifonn Company through July 29,2013,
NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DAVIE,
FLORIDA.
SECTION 1. To extend the contract through July 29, 2013 with Golden Nugget d/b/a Argo
Uniform Company in accordance with.the renewal agreement stated in the original contract.
SECTION 2. The Town Council approves and authorizes the expenditure from the Police
Department Unifonn Account 001-03-100-521-55201 in the aIilountof$60,OOO per year.
SEctION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.

Authorization to expend up to $18,700 with Gold Nugget d/b/a
Argo Uniforms for the purchase of police department uniforms and
accessories.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Manager to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in
the amount up to $18,700. (Eighteen thousand, seven hundred dollars) to Gold
Nugget d/b/a: Argo Uniform Company for the purchase of new and replacement
uniforms for all uniformed employees of the Police Department.
REASONS:
The need to purchase and replace uniforms worn by officers and civilians
representing the Police Department, has necessitated that we utilize a vendor
who has a local facility and stocks uniforms in quantity to serve the department's
needs.
Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company stocks recommended uniforms and
styles utilized by our department. Gold Nugget d/b/a Argo Uniform Company also
employs a large staff of seamstress personnel to do alterations and stitching of
uniforms resulting in a faster delivery of uniforms and accessories.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The City will Piggy-Back the Town of Davie (FI) contract Bid # B-09-81.
