RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 193 2..R
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FANG OLIVER AS THE SUNNY
ISLES BEACH AMBASSADOR TO ASIA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, sister city relationships are developed to increase global cooperation at the
municipal level, promoting cultural understanding and stimulating economic development; and
WHEREAS, Sister Cities International based in Washington, D.C., is the organization that
formally recognizes sister city relationships worldwide; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appoint Fang Oliver as the Sunny Isles Beach
Ambassador to Asia to assist the City in establishing a sister city relationship in Taiwan.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Appointment as Ambassador to Asia; The City Commission hereby appoints Fang
Oliver as the Sunny Isles Beach Ambassador to Asia.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of December 2011.
