A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT NO. BAlI12-012 TO FISCAL YEAR 2011/2012
BUDGET FOR THE COLLINS AVENUE STREET IMPROVEMENT -
WEST PHASE III PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($100,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has directed staff to provide for new and/or additional
goods and services that were not contemplated in the approved Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Budget;
and
WHEREAS, the implementation of these new and/or additional goods and services
requires certain budget amendments to the Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Budget Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves Budget
Amendment No. BA1112-012, for Fiscal Year 2011/2012 adopted budget for the following
Major Amendments:
Capital Improvement Proiects (CIP) Fund (20)
Increase Collins Avenue Street Improvement-West Phase III Project account by $100,000.00.
Decrease Fund Balance Reserve account by $100,000.00.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day ofJanuary 2012.

FY 201112012 2nd Budget Amendment-Capital Projects
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending City Commission approve the Fiscal Year 2011/2012 budget
amendment to increase the Collins Avenue Street Improvement- West Phase III budget by
$100,000. The offset funding will be from the Fund Balance Reserve.
REASONS:
The original budget for the scope of upgrading the sidewalks west of Collins Avenue
from concrete to brick pavers was $450,000. However, based on the actual proposal
received the estimated cost for the upgrading is $550,000.
