REASONS: North Miami Beach Little League offers an organized, quality, instructional baseball program to Sunny Isles Beach and other Northeast Miami-Dade County residents. 276 players are currently enrolled of which over 10% are Sunny Isles Beach residents and/or attend the Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8. Several fields are needed to host a program of this size. Additional fields are provided by the City of North Miami Beach. Through the City's in-kind donation of free use of the baseball field during regular park hours and the use of volunteer coaches and umpires, the program will be affordable to all who wish to participate with several scholarships available to those who need it. Additionally, it is a convenience for our residents to practice and play on their 'home field'. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This program will be the baseball component of the Cultural and Human Services Athletics Division program schedule. Expenses for any NMBLL games outside of the regular Pelican Community Park hours will be invoiced to NMBLL thereby avoiding any additional expense to the City to offer this program at a City park.
