A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1)
2012 POLARIS RANGER XP 800 (ATV) FROM POLARIS SALES INC. FOR
USE BY OCEAN RESCUE, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
ELEVEN THOUSAND SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS AND TWENTY -ONE CENTS
($11,066.21), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Ocean Rescue Division budgeted for the replacement of a A TV that has
reached its useful life; and
WHEREAS, staff has deemed that Polaris Sales Inc. is the lowest and most responsive
bidder for one (1) 2012 Polaris Ranger XP 800 (A TV) including a black poly sport roof and
freight charges, in a total amount not to exceed Eleven Thousand Sixty-Six Dollars and Twenty-
One_Cents_($ L1 ,066.2 L),_attached_hereto_as_Exhibit~A~; _and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for
said purchase and recommends that the City Commission approve the purchase.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of A TV. The City Commission hereby authorizes the
purchase of one (1) 2012 Polaris Ranger XP 800 (A TV) from Polaris Sales Inc. in a total amount
not to exceed Eleven Thousand Sixty-Six Dollars and Twenty-One Cents ($11,066.21), Attached
hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of March 2012.

Ocean Rescue Division

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to purchase
a 2012 Polaris Ranger XP 800 from Polaris Sales Inc. for use by the Ocean Rescue
Division in an amount not to exceed Eleven Thousand, Sixty Six Dollars and Twenty
One Cents, ($11,066.21).
REASONS:
The Ocean Rescue Division provides lifeguard service throughout the City's 2.5 miles of
oceanfront beach with 5 existing lifeguard stands. An A TV is important to their operation
to respond quickly to an emergency between lifeguard stands.
