Cohen, City Manager' DATE: 3/15/2012 RE: Purchase of a Monument Sign from GraphPlex for Government Center -t- - I RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution authorizing the purchase and installation of the monument sign REASONS: The Sunny Isles Beach Government Center is in need of improved signage for both pedestrians and motorists. Weare working on improving signage for those using our facilities both during and after normal business hours. This is particularly important given the large number of tourists that come to our city who are not aware of the location of important government resources. Other than the signage in the Collins A venue median giving directions on where to turn to access our facility, there is currently no sign at street level indicating that our particular building is in the Government Center. Signage is needed to clearly indicate the location of City Hall, the Police Department, the Visitors Center, the Library, and the Post Office. The proposed monument sign, which is consistent with our other monument signs around the city, will provide this valuable information to the general public.
