A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT NO. BA1112-014 TO FISCAL YEAR 201112012
BUDGET TO THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (20) WHICH
INCLUDES A REDUCTION IN THE FUND BALANCE RESERVE BY
ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
($157,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has directed staff to provide for new and/or additional
goods and services that were not contemplated in the approved Fiscal Year 20 I 1/2012 Budget;
and
WHEREAS, the implementation of these new and/or additional goods and services
requires certain budget amendments to the Fiscal Year 2011/2012 Budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Budget Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves Budget
Amendment No. BAIl 12-014, for Fiscal Year 2011/2012 adopted budget for the following:
Capital Proiects Fund (20)
Increase in the Collins A venue Streetscape Improvement Project - Capital Projects fund for the
enhanced landscape and fiber optics project on Collins Avenue ($157,000.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of March 2012.

MEMORANDUM

RE: FY 2011/2012 4th Budget Amendment-Capital Projects
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending City Commission approve the Fiscal Year 2011/2012 budget
amendment to increase the Collins Avenue Street Improvement-West Phase III budget
by $157,000. The offset funding will be from the Fund Balance Reserve.
REASONS
The current amended budget of $1,300,000 includes $550,000 for upgrading the
sidewalks west of Collins Avenue from concrete to brick pavers and $750,000 for
landscaping and irrigation for the west of Collins Avenue. The additional $157,000 will
include the addition of conduit and meters for the required utilities to service the
improvements.
