HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2012-1912RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 1912 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE REQUEST SUBMITTED BY LPLA PARTNERS, LP., COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE MANSIONS AT ACQUALINA, TO INSTALL A MURAL ON THE CONSTRUCTION FENCE LOCATED AT 17749 COLLINS AVENUE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, LPLA Partners, LP. located at 17749 Collins Avenue, submitted an application to the City of Sunny Isles Beach requesting to install a mural on their construction fence; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the request to install a mural on the construction fence. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Mural. Pursuant to Section 265 -57(G) of the Code of Sunny Isles Beach, the City Commission hereby approves the request, subject to the conditions required by the Florida Building Code. Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. TBSKIND The undersigned, on behalf of LPLA Partners, LP, the Developer of 17749 Collins Avenue, a proposed Condominium to be known as The Mansions at Acqualina, hereby requests your favorable review and consideration of the following: Pursuant to the authority of Section 265 -57(a) of the City's Land Development Regulations, administrative approval is sought for the placement of a temporary banner sign along the street frontage of the proposed Development to be located at 17749 Collins Avenue. As you are aware, this site is to be developed as a luxury, hi -rise residential building. There will be significant construction ongoing for a period of time. Naturally, the construction site will be secured with all requirements, all in an effort to ensure the safety of all construction activities, as well as to provide for the proper screening of the site. In this regard, it is LPLA Partner's request to install a banner type sign along the frontage of the property, which will identify the Project both in wording and in graphics and, as a temporary sign, will serve to screen Mr. Alan Cohen, City Manager City of Sunny Isles Beach May 2, 2012 Page 2 the actual ground level activity from most pedestrian and street traffic, consistent with the intent of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Ordinance which allows for this type of signage. The mural is for the approved The Mansions at Acqualina site plan under Resolution I1 -Z -124, adopted on December 22, 2011. Pursuant to Section 218 -1 of the City Code, the City Manager has the authority to approve the request and is bringing this matter to the Commission's attention. The Applicant is required to pull a building permit and satisfy the conditions in the Resolution and the conditions set forth in Chapter 218 of the City Code.
