He has being involved in transportation and traffic contracts on FDOT District 4 and 6 providing similar services to those required by the City of Sunny Isles Beach Contract. Mr. Calderon is intimately familiar with transportation projects that involve urban planning, traffic calming, traffic safety studies PD &E, and transit. He is also specialized in mapping using Geographic Information System (GIS) platforms, and roadway design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD. Mr. Calderon is the qualifier for Caltran Engineering Group, Inc. (CALTRAN), a new company that is already certified by DOT and Miami -Dade County to offer services such as: Minor Highway Design; Traffic Engineering Studies; Traffic Signal Timing; Signing, Pavement Marking and Channelization; Signalization; Systems Planning; Subarea/Corridor Planning; Traffic Calming; and Transportation Statistics. Mr. Calderon has recent experience in serving the residents of City of Sunny Isles Beach by providing the Sunny Isles Daycare in Winston Towers with a Traffic Impact Study that analyzed the impacts to change the use of a store -front to allow variance of a new daycare considering the new population trends within the City. Mr. Calderon with over 13 years of experience associated with a wide range of traffic and transportation projects has the leadership, knowledge, and capabilities to promptly respond to the City of Sunny Isles Beach Project Manager in all areas under this contract. This project required to present to the City Commission the findings of the traffic analysis due to the proposed use. Residents have being requesting this type of service for many years. The commission granted the proposed variance. Additionally, Mr. Calderon is familiar with the recently acquired oceanfront land In Sunny Isles Beach on Collins Ave by the Fortune Realty. The new developments that Fortune and his partners are planning to build, such as another luxury condo tower between 50 and 60 stories high, will potentially cause an impact on the current traffic conditions at Sunny Isles Beach. This experience gave Mr. Calderon understanding of the needs and concerns that the City Board, officials and residents have regarding traffic and transportation within the City. Therefore, Mr. Calderon acknowledges that the City of Sunny Isles Beach requires a consultant with capacity and knowledge to quickly respond and to solve problems related to transportation and traffic engineering.
