A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING ONE (1) NEW MEMBER AND
REAPPOINTING SIX (6) MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION BOARD, ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT
"A "; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board through
Ordinance No. 2004 -197 adopted on April 15, 2004, providing for standards and review for the
preservation of historical properties within the City, and through Ordinance No. 2004 -214
adopted on September 22, 2004 adding two additional members to the Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding the
designation of historic properties within the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Board Appointments are two -year terms, and the Mayor and City
Commission desires to appoint/reappoint members to the Historic Preservation Board listed
below on the Resolution.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Appointment/Reappointments to the Historic Preservation Board. The
City Commission hereby approves the appointment/reappointments (individual appointments
attached as Exhibit "A ") to the Board:
Chairperson: Joe Masters
Members: Shari Blank, Jorge Camaraza, Janet Cini, Trina Duluc, Hassida "Cassey"
Gabor, and Warren J. Stamm [Honorary Member: Seth Bramson].
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED on this 21st day of June 2012.

MEMORANDUM
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Commission

RE: Historic Preservation Board Appointments
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution
appointing /reappointing members to the Historic Preservation Board for a two -year term.
REASONS:
The City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board to provide for standards
and review for the preservation of historical properties within the City. The Historic
Preservation Board provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding the
designation of historic properties within the boundaries of the City.
The Board appointments are two -year terms, and the current members of the Board are as
follows: Chairperson Joe Masters; Members: Shari Blank, Janet Cini, Trina Duluc,
Hassida "Cassey" Gabor, and Warren J. Stamm (Seth Bramson is a honary member).
Commissioner Scholl has nominated Jorge Camaraza to be a member of the Board as
Mark Glicksman has resigned. This term will be effective from June 2012 through
December 2014 in order to appoint future members in full calendar years.
