He has excelled in that role and completed the GI -BMP course as part of the UF/ IFAS Florida Friendly Landscaping program. James Socash, Landscape Architect JFS DESIGN LICENSE - 000393 JAMES F. SOCASH RLA LICENSE - 0001132 Mr. Socash has partnered with Nanak's Landscaping on several project and will serve as our Landscape Architect in regards to the RFP for City wide maintenance. For RFP 12- 05 -01, the aforementioned team members will play a role as will our office staff, middle managers, and regular laborers. Upon award of the contract, a pre- commencement meeting will be held with all the Owner, Department Managers, the Area Service Manager, and City Representative to review the City's requirements as well as identify any special requests from the City. Primary daily responsibility for the maintenance of an account falls on the Area Service Manager assigned to the project. The Area Service Manager directly oversees the recurring lawn and landscape maintenance operations as well as coordinates additional contracted services with those department managers. The City project will require an estimated 17 full -time employees to insure the proper completion and execution of the scope of work. Additional personnel will be available as support. Proposal Submittal Item 4 4. Approach /Methodolgy: As there are specific times cited in the RFP for specific tasks, Nanak's will review and prepare an annual calendar of proposed service dates for all recurring services listed in the RFP. As previously offered, Nanak's will employ a team of approximately 17 people to accomplish the directives of the RFP. Tasks will be broken down into their respective frequencies and personnel will be assigned to specialized crews equipped to complete those specific tasks. For example, one team will be assigned, trash pick up, one will be assigned the mowing of parks, one will be assigned the trimming of Collins Avenue's medians, etc. Crews and equipment will be staged from the Lehman Causeway storage parking area and will report directly to the site for each day's assignment. Having employees report directly to the service area will allow for maximized productivity in the work day. Staff will be available for special and /or non recurring assignments relating to ball fields, graffiti, shopping carts, or any other miscellaneous requests that fall under the scope of the RFP. Upon notification of award, a meeting will be scheduled with the key team members from our firm with the appropriate manager(s) from the City. The property will be physically toured to provide all parties with a clear understanding of the City's expectations and its special needs. Within the first week, all documentation will be prepared, contracts executed, and insurance certificates provided. The irrigation system will be thoroughly evaluated to identify any deferred maintenance issues and the results of said evaluation will be provided to the City representative. The transition team will include those individuals listed in Section 2 or the RFP. The Nanak's Landscaping team embraces the philosophy that quality is the most important factor in the maintenance of a property. As such, property inspections are frequent, and performed by several different individuals. At a minimum, the site is inspected by the aforementioned territory manager every mowing service. In addition, the Operations Manager reviews the scope of contracted services that are scheduled for each month and will coordinate with the various division managers to ensure the satisfactory completion of those services. The Operations Manager will also inspect the site each month to ensure compliance with the scope. The General Manager and Associate General Manager make recurring visits at least quarterly to monitor the progress of service. All efforts will be made to address any specific or urgent matters that require immediate attention. Because Nanak's Landscaping is a full service landscape maintenance company, the company provides virtually all green industry services in- house. This eliminates the need to subcontract any services and keeps all work within our immediate sphere of influence. The Owner and General Manager also serve as landscape designers and their work has allowed some of our clients, like Aventura Corporate Center, to be recognized by their City for their commitment to landscape excellence. The company also has 17 acres of tree and liner nursery in Boynton Beach allowing us to mobilize with plant material rapidly or contract grow for long term projects. In addition, our staff is largely comprised of professionals that have been with the firm in excess of 5 years. We have worked together on various properties, for numerous ownerships, through several different commercial property management companies. With each experience, Nanak's has maintained an exemplary level of professionalism, excellent and expeditious customer service, and overall competitive & fair market pricing. Additionally, the knowledge and experience brought to the field by the company's staff remains unchallenged in the market place. Nanak's is able to deliver consistent maintenance, as well as excellent landscape design, and an overall expertise in irrigation, plant disease control, tree trimming, etc. Lastly, take into consideration the size of the company, as they are a local entity small enough to make you feel a part of their family, but large enough to provide all the services a larger national company is able. When it comes to reliability and service with a smile, Nanak's is the the company you want on your team. I have worked with Kevin Hunt for almost fifteen years. In that time, they have consistently provided superior landscaping services. Kevin's experience has been extremely helpful in determining comprehensive landscaping programs, which include, irrigation, tree care, pest control, plant replacement, and annual flower scheduling. One particular project illustrates their attention to detail, concern for quality, and effective use of available funds. Sheridan Street Offices were an absolute mess when we took over the management of the property. Almost all of turf in the islands and median were dead, trees were overgrown, the irrigation system barely functioned and the shrubs along Sheridan Street had grown to over five feet tall, effectively blocking the view of the property. Nanak's put together, a comprehensive plan that dramatically improved curb appeal while still staying within budget. Kevin devised a "let's do a little at a time" approach, where by the regular maintenance crews were able to target specific areas of the property at a time, thus eliminating expense up -front refurbishment costs. For this particular property, immediate improvement was not a factor. I can recommend Nanak's Landscaping with enthusiasm, and as a Preferred Service Provider of C13 Richard Ellis, we continually afford them the opportunity to bid on all our landscaping needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Craig H.
