A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION
OF THE "TURKISH RED MARBLE STATUE" FROM JACK AND
OFRI COHEN TO BE PLACED IN GATEWAY PARK IN MEMORY
OF THEIR SON EIDO COHEN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of constructing Gateway
Park located on Sunny Isles Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, Jack and Ofri Cohen wish to donate to the City the "Turkish Red Marble
Statue" valued at $32,000.00, for placement in the Gateway Park in memory of their son Eido
Cohen who passed away on July 25, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the statue is 50" x 31" x 80" and is a composition of three women
triangularly backing each other and depicting the three states where people find themselves in the
human social fabric; and
WHEREAS, the City exercises its authority to accept donations as a non-profit
municipal corporation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Accepting the Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts the donation of
the "Turkish Red Marble Statue" from Jack and Ofri Cohen to be placed in Gateway Park in
memory of their son Eido Cohen.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of August 2012.

To the Mayor, Vice Mayor and the Commissioners of Sunny Isles Beach ,
Please find attached some pictures of the Turkish Red Marble Statue in the sizes of 50" x31" x 80", that my wife Ofri and
I wish to donate to the City of Sunny Isles Beach, to be placed in the new park of Sunny Isles Blvd, in memory of my son
Eido Cohen that passed away on July 25, 2012 in connection with Scleroderma Disease at the age of 34 years old.
The Turkish Red Marble Statue ( which I purchased about 20 years ago, with a cost over$30,000.00, ) is a composition
of three women triangularly backing each other and depicting the three states where people find themselves in the
human social fabric.
One woman is beautifully carved and holds a harvested basket showing richness and self pampering in the upper social
echelon.The second woman depicts someone who is not as beautifully carved but is still presentable relating to the vast
social middle class of society.The third woman is poorly carved and she is almost defaced, representing the lower poor
social class of people who are struggling with self preservation and a place in society.

which is a few hundred dollars will be on the city expenses.
