Dear Mayor Edelcup:
I hope all is well with you and your beautiful city, known as 'Florida's Riviera.' We at Jewish
Community Services (JCS)wish to thank you once again for the support you have shown us in
the past.
In light of our mutually beneficial relationship, JCS is requesting that the City of Sunny Isles
Beach consider supporting the work we do for your citizens through an allocation of$25,000.
As a non-profit, non-sectarian social service agency in Miami-Dade County, JCS offers a full-
range of programs to the entire community. The ones most familiar to your residents may be the
older adult social and recreational initiatives and the home-delivered kosher meals program for
frail seniors and Holocaust survivors. There are a number of people from Sunny Isles Beach who
also take advantage of our DUI classes and children's mental health programs. All told, there are
approximately 120 Sunny Isles Beach residents that partake of JCS services.
JCS is a recipient of funding from numerous sources, including the City of Miami Beach, which
allocates$46,900 from its general revenues for transportation of our home-delivered meals. We
hope we can count on the City of Sunny Isles Beach to also partner with JCS in providing
services for its residents. Your allocation of$25,000 would provide ten of your senior adult
residents with home-delivered meals for a year, in addition to supporting all the other programs
benefiting your city.
If you would like to discuss JCS' role in enhancing the lives of your residents, please let me know.
I look forward to our continued affiliation with the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
Best wishes to you and the City Commission.
Sincerely,
/-;

Dear Mr. Stock:
Hans Ottinot
City Attorney
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to fostering social and civic
Jane A. Hines programs and services that benefit our residents directly and indirectly. The
City Clerk
Jewish Community Services of South Florida has a proven track record of
providing just such programs to the South Florida community, indiscriminately.
As such, at its special meeting of August 21, 2012, the City Commission adopted
Resolution No. 2012-1955, approving a contribution to the Jewish Community
Services of South Florida in an amount of $5,000.00. The check is being
processed and will be mailed to you shortly.
It is our hope and belief that this contribution will further assist the Jewish
Community Services of South Florida with its efforts to provide programs and
services to the South Florida community.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
