TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SURVEY SERVICES FOR A ROUTE SURVEY OF THE WILLIAM LEHMAN CAUSEWAY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY THOUSAND TWENTY -SEVEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($5,027.50), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City is in need of a consultant to provide professional survey services for a route survey of William Lehman Causeway as required by FDOT to obtain permits for the future solid wall between the William Lehman Causeway and Oceanview /Ocean Reserve properties to replace the existing chain link fence; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to enter into an agreement with Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc., to provide these services; and WHEREAS, the Consultant is qualified, willing and able to provide said Services; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to enter into an agreement with Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc., to provide professional survey services for a route survey of the William Lehman Causeway, in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand Twenty -Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($5,027.50), attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ratifying the Agreement. The Agreement with Calvin Giordano and Associates to provide professional survey services for a route survey of the William Lehman Causeway, in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand Twenty -Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($5,027.50), attached hereto as Exhibit "A" is hereby ratified. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager, The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. SCOPE OF SERVICES Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. will perform the following services based on our understanding of the project requirements: I. Professional Surveying Services A. Provide four signed and sealed copies of the legal description and sketch of Exhibit A to the City's Lease Agreement with FDOT. — (No Charge) B. Set a site benchmark near the Pump Station at the westerly end of the overall Lease Parcel (to accommodate setting the modulars one foot above flood). The elevation will be relative to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929. — (Fee $187.50) C. Provide Topographical Survey along the Northerly right -of -way line of Northeast 192nd Street (State Road 856). the limits will be twenty (20) feet each side of the right -of -way line and extend from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Westerly right -of -way line of Collins Ave. Cross - sections will be taken every 5o' as well as at grade breaks. REASONS: In developing the FY 2012/2013 budget, a Capital Project is included to replace the existing chain link fence running between the Lehman Causeway and Oceanview /Ocean Reserve properties to the north. In order to properly design and obtain plan approvals /permits for the future solid wall, a route survey is needed. This future wall will generally match the height, color, and overall character of the existing wall on the south side of the Lehman Causeway. In addition, this scope of work includes setting a benchmark in the project area for use in the construction of the new wall as well as for setting the proposed modular unit(s) for the Public Works Compound to an appropriate finish floor elevation.
