A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
DONATION OF THIRTY (30) USED CHAIRS AND TWO (2) USED
CABINETS TO EDEN SEVENTH -DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH OF
MIAMI, A NON - PROFIT ORGANIZATION; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a tradition of participating and assisting
various social service programs; and
WHEREAS, The Eden Seventh -Day Adventist Church ( "Church ") is a religious social
service agency in Miami, serving primarily the Haitian neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to donate the thirty (30) used chairs and two (2) cabinets to
the church.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Donation. The City Commission hereby authorizes a charitable
contribution of thirty (30) used chairs and two (2) used cabinets to the Eden Seventh -day
Adventist Church.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of b 2012.

The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge that we have received thirty (30) chairs and two
(2) cabinets from your office. In behalf of the Eden Seventh -day Adventist Church of Miami, Florida, I
want to thank you very much for your donation It is really appreciated.
I hope that in the future when you have other items that you think that the church can use,
you think about us. Because we have many needs. Our church just got broken into and all our
equipment has been stolen.
In addition, we are in the process of renovating our church facility; therefore, whatever help
we can receive from your office would be greatly appreciated. Please you can personally contact me

RECOMMENDATION:
The Resolution is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
As you know, the City has a tradition of giving charitable contributions to organizations
that cater to the general welfare of the public. The Eden Seventh -Day Adventist Church,
a religious social service agency in Miami, serving primarily Haitian- Americans, has
agreed to accept thirty (30) used chairs and two (2) used cabinets that the City was
planning to dispose of.
