A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE
PURCHASE OF SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FROM HOME
DEPOT FOR SEVERAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
($10,000.00), BRINGING THE TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED TO FORTY -NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($49,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on October 20, 2011 via Resolution No. 2011 -1787 the City Commission
authorized the purchase of supplies and equipment from Home Depot, in an amount not to
exceed Thirty -Nine Thousand Dollars ($39,000.00) annually; and
WHEREAS, staff purchased additional supplies and equipment for several City
construction projects such as the new lifeguard towers; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the purchases from Home Depot for supplies
and equipment, in an amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), bringing the
total amount not to exceed to Forty -Nine Thousand Dollars ($49,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratify Purchases. The City Commission hereby ratifies the purchase of supplies
and equipment from Home Depot for additional construction projects, in an amount not to exceed
Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), bringing the total amount not to exceed to Forty -Nine
Thousand Dollars ($49,000.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

Ratification of the Annual Home Depot Purchases
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to ratify the
purchase of Home Depot items for the Fiscal year of 2011/2012 an additional $10,000.00
REASONS:
The City currently purchase supplies and equipment for repair and maintenance on City
owned facilities. On October 20, 2011 the City Commission approved Resolution 2011-
1787 that allowed staff to purchase supplies and equipment for repair and maintenance of
City owned facilities and parks from Home Depot in an amount not to exceed $39,000.00
Staff is requesting an additional $10,000.00, bringing the total amount not to exceed to
$49,000.00 to cover outstanding invoices for the remainder of this fiscal year. Staff went
over the $39,000.00 budget for last year because of several City construction projects
such as the new lifeguard towers.
