A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A
CONCEPTUAL PLAN BY O'LEARY RICHARDS DESIGN
ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE CENTRAL ISLAND STREET •
TREE PROJECT, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A";
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2017 via Resolution No. 2017-2673 the City Commission
approved the agreement with Miami-Dade County and Neat Street Program for a street tree
matching grant; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve the conceptual design for the Central Island
Landscaping Plan to proceed with the project.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Schematic Design. The City Commission hereby approves the
conceptual design, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and City
Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this
Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: Approval of the Conceptual Central Island Conceptual
Street Tree Project Plan
RECOM M ENDAT ION:
This Resolution is presented for your approval.
REASONS:
The City accepted the matching grant from Miami-Dade County and
Neat Street Program, therefore the conceptual design plan was initiated
with O'Leary Richards Design Associates, Inc. The project area is
located at North Bay Road from 174th Street to 183rd Street and from
Atlantic Blvd to North Bay Rd. There is a total of approximately 125
trees proposed for the project ranging from Pigeon Plum, Green
Buttonwood, Brazilian Beautyleaf, Spanish Stopper, Orange Geiger,
and others. Site evaluation work has begun and installation is scheduled
to commence on July.
