Emergency Debris Clearing and Removal Operations
CITY BID NO. 14-06-02
To All Bidders:
Bidders for the above-referenced project shall take note of the following changes,
additions, deletions, clarifications, etc. to the Plans and Specifications, which in
accordance with the Contract Documents shall become a part of and have precedence
over anything shown or described otherwise.
Reponses to questions:
Line Item 2: reads
All Vegetation debris from Public rights-of-way, to include hangers and leaners stump
removal, aerial hazard mitigation, TDSR site management, separate & reduce debris by
grinding, load and transport processed/ground debris to final disposal ) to include
tipping fees. (0-25 miles) Cubic Yard.
Tipping Fees are pass through Items and cannot be included in the Cubic Yard pricing .
This has been addressed in the RFP. Quote with tipping fees included from 0-25
miles.
Line Item 3: reads
Construction and Demolition debris from the Public right-of-way, including white goods
and electrical waste to final disposal) to include tipping fees. (0-25 miles)
Again tipping fees are a pass through item.

Line Item 4:reads
Transporting processed all debris to final disposal (>25 miles) Mile
The unit measurement need to be per cubic yard mile. Reason: a contract could use a
15 cubic yard truck for final disposal and charge the City by the mile. When, if you had
an average of 80 cubic yard truck per mile a lot more will be haul ed at one time. This
will save money on final disposal. There need to be a maximum mileage to final

disposal. Reason: a contractor could pick a disposal site 200 or 300 miles away instead
of using a disposal site that is only 25 to 50 miles away.
Refer to the fee schedule form in the RFP. Quote based on less than 25 miles.
Line Item 6:
Debris Removal from Drainage Facilities Cubic Yard
Can you please clarify the definition of Drainage Facilities? i.e.: Miter ends, ditches,
canals, ocean etc. These all take several different types of equipment to perform and
very different rates.
Storm drain boxes, inlet drainage wells and one (1) drainage pump station.
Finally since we are to base our total on 40,000 cubic yards, should we add a colum to
show the extended pricing?
No.
