HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2017-2745 RESOLUTION NO. 2017- Z4C A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ELEVEN NEW POLICE VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS AND FIFTY-FIVE CENTS ($313,555.55), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police Fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to our Police Officers; and WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase the eleven (11) Police vehicles and associated equipment, utilizing Florida State Contract #25100000-16-1, in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars and Fifty-Five Cents ($313,555.55), attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; and WHEREAS, staff determined that the above price is reasonable and customary for said purchase and recommends that the City Commission approve the purchase. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Police Vehicles. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of eleven (11) Police vehicles and associated equipment, utilizing Florida State Contract #25100000-16-1, in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars and Fifty-Five Cents ($313,555.55), attached hereto as Exhibit Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. Grandinetti, Police Captain DATE: 10/19/2017 • Ratify the Approval to Purchase eleven (11) New Police Vehicles and associated equipment not to exceed RE: $313,555.55 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to purchase eleven (11) New Police Vehicles and associated equipment not to exceed $313,555.55 REASONS: The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the police fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to our officers. These eleven (11) vehicles will be purchased from Garber Ford Inc. under the Florida State Contract # 25100000-16-1. The associated equipment will be purchased from various vendors as a result of a competitive bid process and/or a piggyback contract.
