A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS.
2006-941 AND 2008-1272; AMENDING THE APPROVAL OF THE
UNIFORM SIGN PLAN SUBMITTED BY RK ASSOCIATES FOR
SHOPPING PLAZAS LOCATED AT 168 THROUGH 180 STREETS AND
COLLINS AVENUE, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A";
PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, under the Sign Code, all signs in multi-tenant plazas must be uniformed in
terms of illumination, material, fabrication, sign area, and in terms of color; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved the Uniform Sign Plan previously submitted
by RK Associates on July 6, 2006, via Resolution No. 2006-941 and later modified on May 15th,
2008, via Resolution No. 2008-1272; and
WHEREAS, RK Associates Uniform Sign Plan applies to shopping plazas located at
168th street, 170th Street, 17151 Street, 176th Street, 180th Street and Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS, RK Associates has requested signage modification to its previously
approved Uniform Signage Plan to include the uniformity of the raceway, inclusion of the logo in
the existing approved sign area, and the codification of allowed fonts.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of the Uniform Signage Modification. The City Commission hereby
amends Resolution Nos. 2006-941 and 2008-1272 to approve RK Associates' revised Uniform
Site Plan to include the uniformity of the raceway, inclusion of the logo in the existing approved
sign area, and the codification of allowed fonts, as attached in exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective ..n adoption.

RE: RK Centers Uniform Sign Plan Modification
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your review.
REASONS:
RK Centers has have an approved Uniform Sign Plan since 2006, this
plan has been updated only once in 2008. After Hurricane Irma,
awnings and signage at the centers were damaged and this gave the
opportunity to update the existing RK Center Uniform Sign Plan. The
updated plan includes the uniformity of the raceway, inclusion of the
logo in the existing approved sign area, and the codification of allowed
fonts. Size and colors remained the same.

We are writing to request a modification sof Resolution No. 2008-1272 (Uniform Sign Plan for RK
Plazas). Below is'the requested changes -to the existing sign criteria.
® .Type of Sign: Individual Reversed Channel Letter & Channel Letter Signs .
o Any sign on a raceway on the building, the raceway shall be painted the color of `the -
building (beige)
o Any sign ori'a-raceway in an awning, the raceway shall be painted Silver.
a Font: Agency FB, Roman Classic Avant Garde,, Arial, Helvetica are they only approved

o Logo: 25 of the total sign area dein be -used for tenant's logo.
