A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA RECOGNIZING
PHILANTHROPISTS STEPHANIE AND JULES TRUMP, EDDIE
TRUMP AND ACQUALINA RESORT AND SPA FOR DONATING
$50,000 TO THE SUNNY ISLES BEACH K-8 TRUST FUND TO
SUPPORT COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS RESIDING IN SUNNY ISLES BEACH; PROVIDING THE
CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE
AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION. PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach K-8 College Scholarship Fund was created to assist
college bound students who reside in Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie and Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and Acqualina Resort and Spa
have generously donated $50,000 to the K-8 Trust Fund to fund a number of scholarships; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to show their appreciation to Stephanie and
Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and Acqualina Resort and Spa for their generous donation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recognition of Stephanie and Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and Acqualina Resort
and Spa. The City Commission hereby recognizes Stephanie and Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and
Acqualina Resort and Spa for donating $50,000 to the Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Trust Fund.
Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and
City Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December 2012.

Re: Trump Scholarship donation for the SIB K-8 Community School Trust Fund
Dear Mayor Edelcup:
On behalf of The Trump Group, Eddie, Stephanie and Jules, and Acqualina, I am writing to express our
desire to pledge a scholarship in the total amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000)(the "Scholarship"),
to the Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Community School Trust Fund (the "Trust"), in recognition of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach's commitment to providing educational opportunities to the young residents of the
City. Your leadership in the area of education is admirable and deserving of recognition. As proud
members of the community over the years, we are excited to continue to invest in its future by supporting
the education of our youth. To that end, we are eager to work with the Trust going forward to help ensure
our Scholarship makes the greatest impact possible.
The Scholarship shall be funded in five(5) equal annual installments. We certainly welcome the Trust's
guidance and suggestions as to how to best apply the Scholarship funds in terms of applications,
recipients and overall implementation. Please feel free to have the appropriate persons contact us to
discuss those recommendations.
Again, as members of the community, we are so thankful for the excellent work that you and your
colleagues have performed for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. We are equally excited to support and
encourage students in our community in their pursuit of similar excellence through higher education. It is
our hope and intent that the Scholarship helps to make a difference in achieving those goals.

RE: Recognizing Philanthropists Stephanie and Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and
Acqualina Resort and Spa
RECOMMENDATION:
The attached Resolution is recommended for approval.
REASONS:
Since their arrival in South Florida, Stephanie and Jules Trump have generously donated time
and money to numerous charitable causes. They have provided numerous young people in
Miami-Dade County with educational opportunities through their non-profit organization called
the "I have a Dream Foundation. Their dedication to providing educational opportunities to the
youth is a passion without limitations. Today, I am asking the City Commission to recognize
Stephanie and Jules Trump, Eddie Trump and Acqualina Resort and Spa for their donation of
$50,000 for scholarships to college bound students residing in the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
The donation will be given to the K-8 Trust Fund for purposes of awarding the scholarships to
deserving students who live in the City.
