A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2012-1915 APPOINTING MEMBERS
TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD FOR A
TWO-YEAR TERM; ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION
OF JANET CINI; CONFIRiMING THE APPOINTMENT
OF JOHN A. RUSNAK; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board through
Ordinance No. 2004-197 adopted on April 15, 2004, providing for standards and review for the
preservation of historical properties within the City, and through Ordinance No. 2004-214
adopted on September 22, 2004 adding two additional members to the Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board provides recommendations to the City Commission regarding the
designation of historic properties within the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, on June 21, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012-1915, the City Commission
appointed/reappointed members to the Historic Preservation Board for a two-year term; and
WHEREAS, Board member Janet Cini has resigned, and the Mayor and City
Commission desires to accept Janet Cini's resignation from the Board, and confirm the
appointment of John A. Rusnak as a member to fill the vacancy on the Historic Preservation
Board.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Accept Resignation and Confirm Appointment to the Historic Preservation Board. The
City Commission hereby accepts the resignation from Board member Janet Cini, and confirms
the appointment of John A. Rusnak (individual appointments attached as Exhibit "A") to the
Board.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED on this 21St day of February 2013.

RE: Amend Resolution No. 2012-1915 Appointing Members to the Historic
Preservation Board by Accepting the Resignation of Janet Cini, and
Confirming the Appointment of John A. Rusnak
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution amending
Resolution No. 2012-1915 appointing members to the Historic Preservation Board by
accepting the resignation of Janet Cini, and confirming the appointment of John A.
Rusnak.
REASONS:
On June 21, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012-1915, the City Commission
appointed/reappointed members to the Historic Preservation Board for a two-year term.
Recently Janet Cini resigned from the Board, and Commissioner Jennifer Levin has
appointed John A. Rusnak as a Board member to fill that vacancy for the remainder of
the two-year term.
