A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INCREASE
IN SPENDING AUTHORITY WITH REP SERVICES, INC. IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($55,000.00) FOR THE PURCHASE OF BUS BENCHES
AND TRASH RECEPTACLES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 21, 2017 via Resolution No. 2017-2734 the City Commission
authorized the City Manager to approve purchases and services under $50,000.00; and
WHEREAS, earlier this fiscal year.the City purchased bus shelter benches from Rep
Services, Inc. in an amount under the City Manager's purchasing authority of$50,000.00; and
WHEREAS, City Manager has determined that additional bus benches and trash
receptacles are in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, Rep Services, Inc., being a sole source vendor, has submitted a quote for the
additional bus benches in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00);
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the increase in the City Manager's
spending authority in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00), for a
total amount not to exceed One Hundred Five Thousand Dollars ($105,000.00) with Rep
Services. Inc. attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section L Approval of Increase in Spending Authority. The City Commission approves the
City Manager's increase in spending authority with Rep Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed
Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00), for a total amount not to exceed One Hundred Five
Thousand Dollars ($105,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: Authority to Spend Up to $105,000 with Rep Services,
Inc.
411 RECOMMENDATION:
The item is presented for your consideration. -
REASONS:
As benches and trash receptacles throughout the City are deteriorating
over time and in need of replacement, the City has begun purchasing
single seat benches to replace the full benches that were previously
located at.bus shelters.
Last fiscal year, the City purchased 31 single bench spats, and installed
at shelters along 174th Street, and some shelters along Collins
Avenue.
We are looking to purchase additional benches and receptacles to
update the remaining shelters along Collins Avenue, as well as other
shelters in the City. This resolution would authorize the funds to
complete that purchase for 22 benches,and 16 receptacles.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This resolution would also authorize some remaining available funds, if
needed, for other miscellaneous purchases, as may arise for

playground needs (as multiple playgrounds throughout the City were
manufactured by Rep Services Inc.). - • . ,
