A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, TO DENY
THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY'S PUBLIC
ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE ("PAAC") FOR
APPROVAL OF ART IN PUBLIC PLACES APPLICATION
NO. AP2018-02 SUBMITTED BY JUICE & JAVA SUNNY
ISLES, LLC ("APPLICANT') FOR A MURAL TO BE
LOCATED ON THE BACK WALL OF THE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 17100 COLLINS AVENUE, #225;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018 Juice & Java Sunny Isles, LLC ("Applicant") submitted
an application to the City's Public Arts Advisory Committee ("PAAC") for the placement of a
mural to be located on the back wall of the property located at 17100 Collins Avenue, #225; and
WHEREAS, after the applicant's presentation and reviewing the work of art, the PAAC
recommends the City Commission approve Art in Public Places Application No. AP2018-02
submitted by the Applicant for the placement of a wall mural on the property located at 17100
Collins Avenue. #225: and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to consider the recommendation made by the
PAAC and approve Art in Public Places Application No. AP2018-02 as submitted by the
applicant.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Denial of Recommendation and Approval of Application. The City Commission
hereby denies the recommendation made by the PAAC and approves Art in Public Places
Application No. AP2018-02 as submitted by Juice & Java Sunny Isles, LLC for the placement of
a mural to be located on the back wall of the property located at 17100 Collins Avenue, #225.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

The City Commission established the Public Art Advisory Committee
(PAAC)to:submit recommendations for Art in Public Places of the City,
therefore, attached to.this memorandum is the PAAC recommendation
of this application (AP2018-02) for Your review The Applicant Juice.

seek approval for a permanent wall mural located in the rear of their
establishment at 17608 Collins Avenue. The mural is 29'-9" wide by 12'
