A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING AN IN-KIND
DONATION TO CHABAD RUSSIAN CENTER OF SOUTH FLORIDA
FOR USE OF GATEWAY PARK AND CITY SUPPORT PERSONNEL
FOR A COMMUNITY EVENT ON DECEMBER 6, 2018; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE •
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Chabad Russian Center of South Florida, in collaboration with Chabad
of Sunny Isles Beach and Chabad of Golden Beach wish to host their annual community event,
Chanukah-Holiday Festival at Gateway Park on December 6, 2018 which is open to everyone;
and
WHEREAS, together, these not-for-profit organizations request the use of city parks at
no cost, including the use of the stage for a band, parking garage, restrooms and those support
services, park clean-up and police services, with an estimated attendance of 700 people; and
WHEREAS, the cost for this donation would be expensed within the Parks and Police
budgets in an amount not to exceed Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) in out-of-
pocket expenses plus the donation of the Park use estimated in an amount not to exceed Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the rental which is reflected as a lack of revenue and is not an
out-of-pocket expense for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in-
kind support for the Chabad Russian Center of South Florida to utilize Gateway Park for their
annual community event, Chanukah-Holiday Festival on December 6, 2018, in an amount not to
exceed Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($8,500.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: In-Kind Donation to Chabad Russian Center of South
Florida
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
Chabad Russian Center of South Florida, in collaboration with Chabad
of Sunny Isles Beach and Chabad of Golden Beach, wish to host their
annual community event, Chanukah-Holiday Festival at Gateway Park
on December 6, 2018. Together, these not-for-profit organizations
request the use of the City park at no cost. This includes the use of the
stage, parking garage, restrooms, and support services, includir)9 park
maintenance and police services.
Estimated attendance is 700 guests. All vendors used will be required
to provide insurance, naming the City of Sunny Isles Beach as
additional insured. This event will be open to everyone.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The costs for this donation would be expensed within the Parks and
Police budgets' in an amount not to exceed $3,500 in out-of-pocket
expenses, plus the donation of the park use in an amount not to exceed
$5000 for the rental, which is reflected as a lack of revenue and is not
an out-of-pocket expense for the City.
