A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR LONG-TERM
INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING FOR REHABILITATION OF THE
GOLDEN SHORES PUMP STATION AND STORMWATER RETENTION
FACILITY EXPANSION STUDY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Infrastructure Element in the City's 2016 Amended Comprehensive Plan
provides for maintaining adequate drainage facilities within the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Shores Pump Station has been evaluated by a professional
engineer and necessary improvements have been identified in order to increase efficiency and
ensure its continued use; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Retention Facility Expansion Study is needed to identify
additional capacity in existing stormwater facilities throughout the City to accommodate future
needs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval and Implementation. The City Commission hereby expresses support for
long-term infrastructure planning for rehabilitation of the Golden Shores Pump Station and the
Stormwater Retention Facility Expansion Study.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and City
Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
