A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE THE
EXPENDITURE OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY THREE
THOUSAND DOLLARS (S53,000.00) TO SOFTWARE HOUSE
INTERNATIONAL (SHI), THE CONTRACTING MICROSOFT
AFFILIATE FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING MICROSOFT
SOFTWARE PRODUCTS, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A ", BY
UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT NO. 252- 001 -09 -1;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City is in need of updating its current Microsoft Licensing due to
changes in its computing environment, as well as the need to upgrade to current software
products: and
WHEREAS, staff determined that Software House International (SHI), the contracting
Microsoft affiliate provides the needed licenses and services: and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the City Manager to purchase software licenses
from Software House International (SHI), the contracting Microsoft affiliate, in an amount not to
exceed Fifty Three Thousand Dollars ($53,000.00); attached hereto as Exhibit "A ", by utilizing
the same terms and conditions as the State of Florida Contract No. 252- 001 -09 -1.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Cite Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to expend
Fifty Three Thousand Dollars ($53,000.00), to purchase software licenses from Software House
International (SHI), the contracting Microsoft affiliate, attached hereto as Exhibit "A ", by
utilizing the same terms and conditions as the State of Florida Contract No. 252- 001- 09 -1..
Section 2. Further Authorization of City Manager. Further, the City Manager is hereby
authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. The Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

RE: SHI Purchase Authorization
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Manager to expend budgeted funds, in an amount not to
exceed $53,000.00, on purchases of software products from Software House
International (SHI).
REASONS:
The City is in need of purchasing software licensing from Microsoft, under State
of Florida contract #252 - 001 -09 -1, Adobe, under State of Florida contract #252-
030 -09 -ACS, and other software which may be needed for City business.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Previous purchases for FY12 total $1930.00;
The Select Plus Agreement payment for FY12 is $41,757.06;
The Enterprise Agreement payment for FY12 is $6737.76;
Anticipated purchases total $2575.18
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding was budgeted and is available under the Information Technology
Budget, 10- 559 -5643 and 10- 559 -5511.
