CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS The meeting was called to order by Mayor Edelcup at 5:01 p.m., with the following officials present: Mayor Norman S. Edelcup Acting City Manager Fred Maas Vice Mayor Lewis J. Thaler City Attorney Hans Ottinot Commissioner Isaac Aelion City Clerk Jane A. Hines, CMC Commissioner Jeanette Gatto Assistant City Manager/Finance Minal Shah Commissioner George "Bud" Scholl Deputy City Attorney Fernando Amuchastegui 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Action: Historic Preservation Board Member Janet Cini led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.. Mayor Edelcup gave opening remarks noting that tonight is our first budget hearing, and our second and final budget hearing will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. 3. PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE AND TENTATIVE BUDGET 3A. Millage Resolution (Public Hearing) A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach of Miami-Dade, County, Florida. Adopting the City of Sunny Isles Beach Tentative Ad Valorem Tax Millage Levy Rate at 2.8000 Mills per One Thousand Dollars($1,000)of Taxable Assessed Value Which is 6.17% More than the "Rolled Back" Rate of 2.6372 Mills, for Fiscal Year 2012/2013; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: [City Clerk's Note: Items 3A and 3B were heard together.] City Clerk Hines read the title, and Acting City Manager Fred Maas reported, and Assistant City Manager/Finance Minal Shah reviewed changes that had been made since the Commission meeting of July 19, 2012 when the Commission established the Millage rate. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1957 was adopted by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor.
