<br />Mr. Pool offers over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, analysis and project management for the
<br />design, retrofit, replacement and expansion of systems for a variety of engineering - intensive and sustainably- Focused
<br />projects. His representative projects include new resort hotels, major hospitality expansion /renovation projects, and new
<br />performing arts centers. As a frequent lecturer and author of technical publications, his focus on advancing the state-of-the-
<br />industry in engineering design has developed a particular sensitivity to critical design issues for creative, cost-effective
<br />solutions for specific applications. Mr. Pool's recent projects have been awarded the American Council of Engineering
<br />Companies of North Carolina (ACEC) Honors Award in 2005, Grand Conceptor Award in 2006 and Grand Award in

<br />This $25MM, 200,000 SF addition to the existing Convention
<br />Center expanded the exhibit halls, conference rooms, lobby
<br />area, administration and support areas.
<br />30 East 60th Street Expansion, New York, New York
<br />(Principal in Charge and Senior Mechanical Engineer)
<br />Mechonical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design of an
<br />I 1 -story expansion /overbuild of an existing 15 -story, 1910ero
<br />hotel. The design included infrastructure replacement to support
<br />the expansion and back -feed the existing building HVAC,
<br />electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Seamless
<br />integration, phasing and cutover for each of the systems was an
<br />important design focus, as the facility was occupied during
<br />construction and infrastructure downtime had to be minimized.

<br />This new $14M, 110,000 SF vocational and educational
<br />training facility focuses on trade industry, health occupations,
<br />automotive occupations, business applications and public
<br />service programs. Virtual /simulated experience classrooms and
<br />an auditorium are also part of the facility.
<br />USGBC Headquarters Upfit, Washington, D.C. (Engineer
<br />of Record and Senior Mechanical Engineer(
<br />Responsible for the design of highly efficient VOW system with
<br />thermal energy recovery system, LED lighting, day light
<br />harvesting, and low -flow plumbing fixtures. The project is
<br />certified as LEDO Platinum and involved a 30,000 SF abaft for
<br />the new headquarters of the US Green Building Council, which
<br />is the governing body for LED accreditation and the leader in
<br />sustainable design. LEED ospeds and occupant comfort were
<br />key design criteria for this project.

<br />Palm Beach, FL (Principal-in- Charge and Senior.

<br />Responsible for 20004on chiller plant expansion, under floor air
<br />distribution, ultra quiet equipment and ductwork selection, and
<br />smoke evacuation system. The $30M, 130,000 SF expansion to
<br />the existing Kravis Center for the Performing Arts included a
<br />two-level underground parking garage, community banquet
<br />halls, administration facility, pre4unction halls, rehearsal facility,
<br />education facility and board rooms.

<br />This $55MM expansion included a 19 -story tower with 325
<br />rooms, fitness center /spa and fine dining establishments
<br />including Nobu with Robert DeNiro.
<br />Port of Palm Beach, Cruise Terminal and Office Building -
<br />Riviera Beach, FL' (Principaf+nCharge, Mechanical
<br />Engineer)
<br />Responsible for the design of HVAC including air-cooled
<br />chillers, VAV air handling units, distribution ductwork, and
<br />chilled -water piping. This project involved the design and
<br />construction of a $14MM, 96,000 SF, 6-story structure which
<br />accommodates cruise passenger facilities, offices for the Port of
<br />Palm Beach, U.S Immigrations, U.S. Customs, and the U.S.
<br />Deportment of Agriculture, as well as offices for several cruise
<br />line companies
