He has extensive knowledge of landscape <br />design and has prepared landscape plans for many parking garages, schools, condominiums, streetscapes and commercial <br />centers throughout Miami -Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He has prepared master land use plans and site plans for <br />parks, residential communities, and retail centers. He has generated site construction plans and details, as well as planting, <br />irrigation, and lighting plans for projects up to $600 million. Ken serves on several Miami -Dade County boards, including the <br />Transportation Aesthetic Review Committee and the Community Image Advisory Board. <br />As a native of South Florida, Ken's knowledge of sub - tropical plant material and its application is extremely strong. Ken <br />has been very interested in sustainable design and has been employing these "green" aspects of design in every project. He <br />designed dozens of rooftop gardens, xeric landscapes and a few alternative irrigation systems. He became LEED certified in <br />2009 and has completed several projects that have received award status from the U.S. Green Building Council, including the <br />General Services Administration's Trade Shop, the new Marlins Ballpark and the Marlins Stadium Site Parking. <br />RELATED PROJECTS <br />Miami Parking Authority Courthouse Garage (2009) — A 10 -story parking garage & Miami Parking Authority <br />headquarters and plaza. RGD prepared a design of an outdoor plaza, Hardscape, Grading, Planting and Irrigation Plans. <br />Contact was James Ebert, Tun Haas & Associates. <br />Stadium Site Parking, Martins Ballpark (1009 -1012) — Stadium Site Parking, consisting of 4 multi -level parking <br />garages, retail spaces and open areas for the new Marlins Ballpark. RGD prepared a Hardscape Plaza and Streetscape <br />Design, Planting and Irrigation plans. RGD was a sub - consultant to Leo A. Daly, contact was Abdel Martel. <br />Miami -Dade College West Campus Parking Garage (1011 - 2011) — A parking garage currently under construction <br />1 for Miami -Dade College's west campus. This project will have several outdoor spaces including an outdoor stage and <br />classroom. The project is applying for LEED certification. RGD prepared Existing Tree Disposition, Planting and <br />Irrigation Plans. Contact is Yvette London at Harvard Jolly, Inc. <br />Municipal Parking Garage #S (2008) — This project was a multi -story parking garage in the City of Miami on W <br />21° Terrace. RGD prepared Planting and Irrigation Plans for the project. Contact was Robert Hernandez, Robert <br />Hernandez Engineering. <br />Miami Children's Hospital (2002) — A major expansion project to nearly double the size of the existing 2 -1/2 acre <br />hospital complex. RGD prepared a Master Plan showing vehicular and pedestrian circulation systems, open space <br />programming, street fitmimre selection and plant massing. Contact was Francisco Gonzales, at HKS, Inc. <br />Baptist Hospital Garage #9 (1007) — A 6 -story parking garage at Baptist Hospital's main campus in Kendall. RGD <br />prepared Planting and Irrigation Plans. Contact was Tom Tulloch at Baptist Health. <br />Aventura Mall Parking Garage — A 5 -story parking garage with direct connections to the stores at Aventura Mall. <br />RGD prepared Planting and Irrigation Plans for the ground level as well as upper level exterior planters. Contact was <br />Eric Nesse , Tumberry Associates. <br />Mercy Hospital (2009) - This project was a 4 -story, (approximately one acre footprint) parking garage on Mercy <br />Hospital campus.
