City Commission Employee Recognition Award Program: Certificates of Appreciation to <br /> be Presented to the Following City Employees: Marline PierreSaint, Cheryl Williams, and <br /> Corey Swan. <br /> Action: Mayor Edelcup reported that Marline PierreSaint,Legal Secretary,Cheryl Williams, <br /> Executive Assistant to City Manager, and Corey Swan IT Analyst, went above and beyond <br /> the call of duty in the performance of their duties. Mayor Edelcup and the City Commission <br /> presented them each with a Certificate of Appreciation and noted that each recipient will <br /> receive a $100 check. <br /> 5B. A Proclamation to be Presented to Carrie Scriffignano who will be Celebrating her 104t1i <br /> Birthday on September 27, 2013. <br /> Action: Mayor Edelcup and the City Commission presented the Proclamation to Carrie <br /> Scriffignano along with a cake to celebrate her upcoming 104t1' Birthday. Her Daughter <br /> Honey Scriff thanked the Commission. <br /> 5C. A Proclamation to be Presented Proclaiming September 2013 as "Childhood Cancer <br /> Awareness Month" in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br /> Action: Mayor Edelcup read into the record the Proclamation proclaiming September 2013 <br /> as "Childhood Cancer Awareness Month". City Clerk Hines will mail the Proclamation. <br /> 5D. Add-On: <br /> Plaque Presentation and Pinning Ceremony for Jane A. Hines, City Clerk, on her Master <br /> Municipal Clerk (MMC) Designation. Presentation by Susan A. Owens, MMC, Florida <br /> Association of City Clerks (FACC), Southeast District Director and Town Clerk for the <br /> Town of Palm Beach, Florida. <br /> Action: Mayor Edelcup introduced the FACC SE District Director and Town of Palm Beach <br /> Town Clerk Susan Owens. Town Clerk Owens noted the SE District is comprised of Palm <br /> Beach,Broward,Miami-Dade,and Monroe Counties. Over the years municipal clerks have <br /> become the hub of government,the direct link between a community and their government. <br /> She said she was here today as we recognize City Clerk Jane Hines for achieving her Master <br /> Municipal Clerk designation. She gave some background on City Clerk Hines and noted she <br /> became a member of FACC in May of 2003 and served on the By-Laws Committee from <br /> 2005 to 2008. There are currently 558 members in FACC,and only 105 of them,that is less <br /> than 19%, have their MMC. Town Clerk Owens proceeded with the MMC Pin ceremony <br /> and presented City Clerk Hines with a Plaque. City Clerk Hines thanked everyone. <br /> 6.
