Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />032000-14 Concrete Reinforcement and Embedded <br />Assemblies <br />G.Dowels in Existing Concrete: <br />1.Install dowels and dowel adhesive in accordance with supplier’s <br />recommendations. <br />2.Minimum embedment length shall be 12 bar diameters, unless noted <br />otherwise. <br />3.3 INSTALLATION OF POST-INSTALLED ADHESIVE ANCHORS <br />A.General: <br />1.Post-installed adhesive anchors shall be installed in accordance with the <br />Manufacturer’s Printed Installation Instructions (MPII). <br />2.The adhesive anchors shall be supplied as an entire system. The <br />contractor shall provide all equipment required to install the adhesive <br />anchor in accordance with the MPII. <br />3.Anchors shall be installed in holes drilled with a rotary impact hammer <br />drill with carbide bit. Contractor shall obtain prior written approval from <br />SER before using rock drilling or core drilling installation methods. <br />4.Anchor holes shall be thoroughly cleaned and dry prior to adhesive <br />injection, in accordance with the MPII. Anchors to be installed in the <br />adhesive shall be clean, oil-free, and free of loose rust, paint, or other <br />coatings. <br />5.Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 2500 psi <br />(17MPa). <br />6.Concrete at time of adhesive anchor installation shall have a minimum of <br />21 days. <br />7.Concrete temperature at the time of adhesive anchor installation shall be <br />at least equal to manufacture's requirements, or 50° F (10°C) if no <br />requirement exists. <br />8.Support the anchor and protect it from disturbance or loading for the full <br />cure time stated by the manufacturer at that base material temperature. <br />9.Unless specified otherwise in the contract documents, anchors shall be <br />installed perpendicular to the concrete surface. Anchors displaced or <br />disturbed prior to the adhesive cure time shall be considered damaged <br />and reported to the SER (see Observations and Corrections section of <br />033000). <br />10.Locate, by non-destructive means, and avoid all existing reinforcement <br />prior to installation of anchors. If existing reinforcement layout prohibits <br />the installation of anchors as indicated in the drawings the contractor shall <br />immediately notify the Design Professionals. <br />11.Reinforcement bars or all-threaded bars shall not be bent after being <br />adhesively embedded in hardened, sound concrete, unless written <br />approval is given by the SER. <br />12.All personnel installing anchors shall be trained by the manufacturer on <br />proper installation techniques. Submit for record certificate from training <br />documentation from the manufacturer for each installer on this Project <br />13.Installation of adhesive anchors horizontally or upwardly inclined and <br />anchors that are designated with a (CERT) after the anchor call-out, shall <br />be performed by personnel certified by the ACI/CRSI Adhesive Anchor
