Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-31 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />D.Contraction Joints in Non-Structural Floor Slabs-on-Grade: <br />1.Maximum slab area controlled by jointing is 400 square feet (35 square <br />meters). <br />2.Space joints at 36 times slab thickness unless a smaller spacing is <br />indicated on the Drawings, located to conform to bay spacing wherever <br />possible (at column centerlines, half bays, third bays). <br />3.Contraction joints can be provided by sawcuts, formed joints or <br />appropriately detailed construction joints. <br />4.Sawcuts shall be made as soon as possible after slab finishing as may be <br />safely done without dislodging aggregate. The Soff-Cut saw shall be <br />used to a depth of ¼ of slab thickness immediately after final finishing. <br />Conventional saw shall be used as soon as possible after final finish <br />without raveling to a depth as indicated on the Drawings. <br />5.Where contraction joints coincide with construction joints, detail joint as <br />indicated on Drawings. <br />E.Joint Fillers: Coordinate with Section 032000 Concrete Reinforcement and <br />Embedded Assemblies and Division 7 requirements. <br />3.3 MIXING <br />A.Measurement of Materials: Conforming to ASTM C 94 <br />B.Mixing: All concrete shall be ready-mixed conforming to ASTM C 94 except as <br />follows: <br />1.Provide concrete materials, proportions and properties as herein specified <br />in lieu of ASTM C 94. <br />2.Water, beyond that required by the mix design, shall not be added at the <br />Project site. Addition of water at the Project site shall be made only in the <br />presence of the Owner's Testing Agency. <br />3.Furnish delivery ticket with each load of concrete delivered to the site to <br />the Contractor conforming to the requirements of ASTM C 94. <br />C.High range water reducing agents (superplasticizer), if added at the batch plant, <br />may be added again at the Project site. <br />1.If superplasticizers are added at the batch plant, the concrete mix design <br />must account for the delivery time, workability, finishability, and setting <br />time required on the jobsite for proper placing and finishing procedures. <br />2.If the superplasticizer is redosed at the jobsite in air entrained concrete, <br />air content must be checked after mixing. <br />D.Discharge of the concrete shall be completed within 1-1/2 hours or before the <br />drum has revolved 300 revolutions, whichever comes first, after the introduction <br />of the mixing water to the cement and aggregates or the introduction of the <br />cement to the aggregates.
