Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-32 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />3.4 CONCRETE PLACEMENT <br />A.Prior to Concrete Placement: <br />1.Mechanical vibrators are required and must be available for placing <br />concrete. <br />2.Remove debris from space to be occupied with concrete. <br />3.Notify Design Professionals and Owner’s Testing Agency 48 hours prior <br />to starting concrete placement. <br />4.Approved mix designs must be maintained on file in Contractor's Field <br />Office. <br />5.Reinforcement and accessories shall be in proper locations, clean, free of <br />loose scale, dirt or other foreign coatings that may reduce bond to <br />concrete, and in accordance with Section 032000 and Drawings. <br />6.Fog spray forms, reinforcing steel, and subgrade just before pouring <br />concrete. <br />7.Do not place concrete having a slump outside of allowable slump range. <br />8.Place concrete before initial set has occurred, but in no event after it has <br />been discharged from the mixer more than 30 minutes. All concrete shall <br />be placed upon clean, damp surfaces, free from puddled water, or upon <br />properly consolidated fills or upon Controlled Low-Strength Material with a <br />strength between 50 and 1200 psi. Placement upon soft mud or dry earth <br />is not permitted. <br />9.Unless adequate protection is provided, concrete shall not be placed <br />during rain. <br />10.Rain water shall not be allowed to increase mixing water or to damage <br />the surface finish. <br />11.At surfaces left exposed to view, do not use equipment in placing and <br />finishing concrete that contain aluminum in the finishing edges that come <br />in contact with the concrete surface. <br />12.Keep subgrade moisture uniform without puddles or dry areas. <br />13.Place vapor retarder directly below slabs on grade as specified in <br />Contract Documents. <br />B.For Conduits and Pipes Embedded in Concrete: <br />1.For concrete slab, wall, beam or column, conform to requirements of ACI <br />318, Chapter 6. For variations from these requirements, submit a written <br />request for Design Professionals' review and response. <br />2.Conduits and pipes shall not be embedded in concrete slabs on steel <br />deck without approval of Design Professional. <br />3.Provide sleeves for pipes passing vertically through concrete. <br />4.Do not embed aluminum materials. <br />5.Do not cut, bend or displace the reinforcement to facilitate placement of <br />embedded pipes and conduits. <br />C.Pumping: Pumping shall be done in strict accordance with ACI 304.2R. <br />D.Placing Concrete in Forms:
