Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-41 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />sides and ends lapped at least 3” (75mm) and sealed by <br />waterproof tape or adhesive. <br />(1)Immediately repair any holes or tears during curing <br />period using cover material and waterproof tape <br />6.Cure slabs on grade, concrete toppings, concrete pour strips, supported <br />slabs, walls and columns, not subject to conditions of hot or cold weather <br />concreting, in accordance with ACI 308. <br />7.Cure surfaces exposed to deicing salts, brackish water, etc., such as <br />loading dock slabs, parking garage slabs and ramps in accordance with <br />ACI 308 recommendations for moist curing. <br />8.Curing Formed Surfaces: Cure formed concrete surfaces, including <br />underside of beams, supported slabs, and other similar surfaces, by <br />leaving forms in place for the full curing period (equivalent to moist <br />curing). <br />a)If forms are removed prior to completion of full curing period, <br />continue curing by methods specified above for Unformed <br />Surfaces, as applicable. <br />B.Cold-Weather Protection: <br />1.When concrete is placed under conditions of cold weather concreting <br />(defined as a period when the mean daily temperature drops below 40°F <br />(4°C) for more than 3 successive days), take additional precautions as <br />specified in ACI 306R when placing, curing, monitoring and protecting the <br />fresh concrete. <br />C.Hot-Weather Protection: <br />1.When concrete is placed under conditions of hot weather concreting, <br />provide extra protection of the concrete against excessive placement <br />temperatures and excessive drying throughout the placing and curing <br />operations with an evaporation retarder. <br />a)Apply according to manufacturer's instructions after screeding and <br />bull floating, but before power floating and troweling. <br />2.Hot weather curing is required if hot weather conditions occur within a 24- <br />hour period after completion of concrete placement. <br />D.Floor surfaces, wherever indicated by weather conditions, shall be sprinkled <br />during the interval between finishing operation and the start of curing to positively <br />ensure against the possibility of surface drying. <br />3.7 CONCRETE REPAIRS <br />A.Perform patching and repairs in accordance with ACI 301.
